Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

Sorry. Paul.
Quite agree. We have quite understandably become mistrustful of pretty much anything we are told; be it lies or so called fake news.

I have long stopped buying a newspaper and even the major news channels are accused of bias.
It is now about taking a balanced view of the information we are supplied with then making up your own mind.

Too often people want someone else to make their mind up for them.
I am too old to make much use of 'social media' except for this forum which I see as challenging my views and not agreeing with everything.

Can't remember the last time I bought a newspaper. I have Facebook, which I'd prefer to get rid of but just keep it to see what friends and family are up to.
What people believe on there is beyond comprehension, not just on Brexit or politics but everything.

Eh, what I meant was, my bumhole is currently the border, clean, easy to cross over, and no friction, but if my missus stopped doing it (i.e. there was "no deal" between us), then shit would hit the fan.

I'd be able to make up my mind if you'd provide me with those lies that the Remain side were spreading.

I think this might be my favourite thing yet to occur. A Tory Brexiteer running to a foreign goverment begging them to block the will of the UK parliament

I like the 'as promised' as if he's a moody teen crying that its so unfair

Edit: Also an interesting tweet attached to that conversation including an article about this MP working for a group who stand to make a killing on the speculation of gold should we end up with no deal

If brexit gets delayed do you guys still have an european election? It's less than 2 months between the deadline and the eu election, right?

Because you could end in the weird situation of still being in the eu but without european mp's.

No one knows yet, it was reported last week that the EU were proposing our MEPs staying on during the extension but think that was just an idea floated.

Nailed on to happen isn't it? That's what this last few years have thrown up.

Am I missing something? The DUP are pro-Bexit but don't want a hard border? They seem a bit confused, if so.

They're ... complicated?
They have one policy - protect their union with Britain and block attempts at integration with the Republic. Everything else is an extension or irrelevance next to that. With the changing population demographics they're kind of doomed to fail in the long term and thats been known for a long time. So brexit is probably a bit of a wild card to throw into the mix and getting a border between them and rest of ireland sounds great to them. It'll be a mess economically and will probably kick off some violence but the DUP your dealing with are living in London so are seperated from the reality and pressures of the situation on ground level. They're more attached to their ideology than most. Its worth noting that they were against the Good Friday Agreement too.
For all intents and purposes i'd view them as pushing for a no deal brexit.

If Article 50 date is extended, do we keep all of our current standings within the EU? For example I understand that if Article 50 is revoked before the 29th March our status in the EU would be as though the referendum never happened, however would that still be the case if Article 50 extended, is the date simply arbitrary as opposed to a date when we live or die?

Secondly if breakfast is extended, does that mean I have to wait longer to be able to buy the lunch menu at McDonald's?
My understanding is that;
a) It will only be extended if we have a specific reason for it to be so. I.e. May’s deal has been agreed and needs to be ratified by the various legislative bodies across Europe, We’re having a second referendum.
b) EU elections are scheduled for mid-summer (July), so any discussions will need to have been concluded by then anyway.

EU elections are in May and the new parliament sits at the beginning of July

With a deadline of April for nominations I think
I believe the libs are compiling a list of candidates incase the elections go ahead in the uk

In France candidates have to present themselves between 21st April and 2nd May and the elections are on 26th May.

If the Uk did hold elections and MEP's were elected, I've no idea what happens next - would they sit for the full five years meaning the UK can't leave until 2024?
Makes no sense just to sit for possibly a few months.

I know. Half of me don't quite believe it will be that bad. But am doing a list of essentials that will keep; then will order off Amazon pantry just in case.

Good luck with that as there’ll be no couriers to deliver it.

A friend who works for Sainsbury says Sainsbury's plan is to call upon the military to maintain law and order during the scramble for groceries in the days immediately after Brexit.
Wonderful bread wars

Nice evisceration of the WTO lot in here

I very much doubt any supermarket will be able to call in the military to protect the shelves

The Honourable member for Saudi Arabia.

Time for me to buy a dinghy so I can smuggle goods across the channel at crazy prices. What do you guys need? Belgian beer, chocolate and clean underwear?
