Do you think there will be a Deal or No Deal?

  • Total voters
    194
  • Poll closed .
This is astonishing stuff if you're interested in the workings of Parliament. A Government whipping against its own motion?

Forcing MPs to vote against something they literally voted for 20 minutes ago.

Is there any effective difference between a whipped vote and a free vote? Tory MP's seem to be voting whichever way they like anyway...

At some point it's better to stop pretending?

The whips have a massive influence. They always have.

I haven't been paying attention to any of this mess. So i'll just assume the Government is fecked which has been my standard assumption for the previous 10 years.

How much do all these inbred toffs get paid and they can't keep their traps shut while someone's talking.

Thank god we'll soon have 100% of our power in the hands of this shower. That'll really sort out the country.

Yeah, this is the thing I don't understand. Brexit is about people voting to give more power to the people they are unsatisfied with.

Is it me or do these two on the BBC sound exactly like Sandi Toksvig and Richard Ayode (latter looks like a distant relative too)?
Not watching but the Toksvig soundalike was on Sky too.

Seriously what a lying prick. There is a better deal to be had, if you lose her red line about freedom of movement.

She clearly doesn't want to allow freedom of movement. She was one of the most xenophobic ministers in decades.

I'm not sure what is going on anymore. I voted remain but when the referendum result was announced I accepted it as the will of the people. What amazes me is how we are at this last minute panic stage this should have been sorted out at least a year ago. I'm not tied to any party have always voted at each election for who seemed to have the best ideas. Now I just think most of them are only in it for themselves and I'm tired of the whole thing. Just get whatever needs to be done done.

To be fair to her, I think you can infer from the vote that the people who voted for Brexit wanted no freedom of movement. She's trying to abide by that. The whole thing is a mess.

Whoever came up with this thread title is my new favourite modmin.
Silva's work. He does the vast majority of the titles in the threads he makes.

To be fair, you don't rule by tyranny of the majority because this is where you get to.

She is the home secretary of the 'hostile environment' - so make no excuses for her anyway.
