Bundesliga 2015/2016

Seriously Schalke...

If you wanna play that passive then at least close down the spaces....

The defending of both sides is really poor. Hard to believe, that these two are top 6 teams of the league.

Wolfsburg appear to be very dodgy at the back. Good signs for United.

The bundesliga thread is the best for the funny comments about Shalke and Hamburg

I would actually like to have a well informed Schalke supporter on here. Would add some more diversity.

Not watched much Bundesliga the last 2 years, but are Wolfsburg much better than Schalke? The latter are playing like minnows.

I honestly have never met a single one. Does someone like that exist? It's not meant as a dig actually, I don't mind Schalke. I just seriously never met a Schalke fan who could be described as reasonable.

Can't Wolfsburg trigger Max Meyer's release clause and tell him he'll start every single game in De Bruyne's position? It's a shame how Meyer's development has stalled over the last 2 years and how rarely he gets to play.

Well I know a few, so they do exist ^^.

I know a lot more who know their stuff about tactics, players, teams and the league. The problem with them is, that what they say always carries a bit frustration and impatience with it. They just really badly want that league title, something they are waiting for nearly five decades now. This is a crazy long time for a club with as much support as Schalke has. I thought the cup win 2010/2011 would make them more relaxed, but it just does not replace the champions title. It must be even more frustrating by looking at the types of players they have produced in the last decade.

Thats also why there is always so much unrest in the club. It is not just the officials, a lot of the supporters do their fair share for that aswell.

Who needs De Bruyne, right? Best Wolfsburg game this season and of course without the ginger traitor ;). Well, it's still a bit shit, because the whole game is a bit shit, but let's ignore that for now.

Yeah. Fair play to Wolfsburg for their reaction, but all three goals were horribly defended by Schalke. Twice they left a Wolfsburg player completely alone in the box and the foul resulting into the pen was really stupid.

English commentator sums up Schalke in one sentence "At least they tried."

This should be their new club slogan.
On my Tv Schweinsteiger is always eating crisps... You have to look after his diet...

I´m normally not someone who posts random youtube clips, but I just ran across a very insightful interview of Schalke´s offensive talent Donis Avdijaj (currently loaned to Graz) and I thought I share that with the German speaking members on here:

Truly one of the finest straight out of the "Knappenschmiede"

 Jesus wept

But to be honest, while he's probably not the brightest candle on the lustre he seems like a decent guy. He's trying to be funny (and succeeds for the wrong reason) and not a "gangster"... I kinda like him now, weil er schon ziemlich geil is, so.

Also, compared to most austrian footballers he's like a veritable Stephen Fry in terms of eloquence and pronunciation.

He must have learned his bad food habits from Thomas who is always fighting Gerd for sugary chocolate milk.

Thomas stopped the chocolate milk 3 years ago. Today he is into buying vegane pasta sauce and buying lactosefree milk. Or into big chunks of grilled meat from the barbecue grill... He even skipped BIFIs.

About Donis Avdijaj - I do not understand why there ain't an agent or anybody that takes care that he does not give such interviews...

Watched until it got to 3-0. Assorted thoughts:
-Wolfsburg looked professional but limited. They need to find a De Bruyne replacement or they'll struggle to create against teams more organized and engaged than their opponents today
-Schalke were garbage, basically
-Vierinha is a tidy player. His link up play with Trasch was the most consistent source of creativity for either team. Does he start for Portugal these days? There's no way they have 7 non-Ronaldo, non CB players more consistent, skilled and hardworking than him.
-Guilavogui moves well for his size and has hunger to win the ball, but he's terrified to do anything but go backwards with the ball
-Dost made some good decisions on the counter
-Sane is raw and selfish but has good pace and considering he's 19, looks a solid bet to score goals from out wide once he develops a bit
-Geis didn't leap off the screen to me, for a hyped player, but good hit with his left at one point and did seem to want the ball
-Why was Aogo in midfield?
-Draxler looked disinterested but on the ball, he's sharp as hell. Hit some clever passes. I guess he's off to Juve but he'd be an interesting fit here as a 10 competing with Herrera if Januzaj went out on loan and Van Gaal and Schweinsteiger could get him engaged...

Spahic at it again. Why any club moves for him is beyond me.

For the game against Leverkusen in an hour:

Here's the #FCBayern XI: Neuer - Thiago, Lewandowski, Robben, Costa, Alonso, Bernat, Lahm (c), Vidal, Müller, Alaba

subs: Ulreich - Dante, Rafinha, Götze, Rode, Kimmich, Steinhart

So the big riddle for today, who's playing centerback?

Bayer Leverkusen XI: Leno - Hilbert, Tah, Papadopoulos, Wendell - Kramer, Bender - Bellarabi, Calhanoglu, Mehmedi - Kießling

It was never a foul. Great defender who gets a red crad because of his bad reputation.

I love Guardiola.

Seems like Guardiola's dream came true...

A goalkeeper that could play midfield
Fullbacks that are midfielders
Strikers who could play midfield
and midfielders...

okay let's try this:

Costa Lewandowski Müller Robben
Vidal -- Thiago
Alonso
Bernat - Alaba - Lahm
Neuer

Looks pretty awesome to me, anyone worried? @Piratesoup maybe?

Would you be less worried if there would be Dante at the back?
I'm actually not worried at all. It should be fun. But yes, I'd prefer it if we played Dante today and left Alonso out of the team.

I'm sure @Sphaero is delighted that his new favourite team won again and is on a great way to stay in the Bundesliga. Go Ingolstadt go.

Well of course I am, they are a beauty to watch. The whole Bundesliga saturday so far was a feast for every lover of wonderful football.

Let´s hope this game lives up to that...

Bayern´s line up is interesting to say the least. If Calhanoglu and Bellarabi play their cards right and stretch the defense, I can see Neuer getting a lot to do, because it will open up a lot of space for Kiessling and Mehmedi.

It is certainly a brave formation, but it either means thad Dante is gone in the next days or has fallen incredibly low in Guardiola´s favour.

It's just odd that Rafinha isn't playing either. He could at least play Lahm in midfield next to Alonso and Rafinha rightback to make it at least appear somewhat stable in defense. That line-up is just beyond everything I've ever seen. Hell, I wouldn't want us to start like that against a 4th division side in the first cup round. It's not just a problem when Leverkusen are stretching the defense, it's almost impossible for us to defend against headers. Every corner that Neuer can't catch is a potential nightmare.

But then, we'll just never lose the ball today and stay 90 minutes in Leverkusen's half. All good, 2-0 win.

3-0 and a really good performance. Hard to believe it was almost the same team that managed to lose to Ingolstadt with an all-time shit performance.

Muto up front makes a big difference, he wins more balls and is a better finisher than Niederlechner. I also really liked Latza's performance after he came on for the injured Frei. He gave us much more control and calmness in possession. We also managed to play our way through the middle today, which was fantastic to see. Besides Latza, an in form Malli helped a lot with that.

There is a little "however" to this performance, and that's the opponent. Hannover were absolutely appaling, especially for the first 60 minutes before we eased up a bit. Definite relegation contenders if they don't get their shit together.
