Bundesliga 2015/2016

Weak from Favre. Seems like no one at Gladbach wanted to see him gone. Doesn't make the best impression if he resigns during their first crisis and will probably make him less attractive for top clubs.

It's not Borussia Mönchengladbach's first crisis under his reign though, just by far the most severe one.

Kinda agree, though I don't think you can say it was the first crisis, but certainly the biggest one. It's a weird trend going on with managers stepping down themselves so quickly though. Klopp at least stayed until the end of the year, not like Veh last season at Stuttgart and now Favre at Gladbach. It's really a bit weird that managers just decide to leave before their contract is up without a new offer on the table. I don't remember cases like that happening so frequently in previous decades. You could add Tuchel to that list as well in a way.

How does it even work from a financial point of view? If a club fires a manager, the club usually has to pay a shitload of money without getting anything in return. Favre's decision has such a huge impact on Gladbach, they're at such a big disadvantage, have to find a manager quickly who most likely is inferior to Favre (voted coach of the year only 2 months ago after all), wasn't involved in putting the team together and hasn't had a pre-season with the team. Yet most likely, Favre just won't get paid from here on, that's it. He either should have made up his mind during the summer or saw it through until his employer decides he's not good enough anymore. Unless there's a medical issue of course, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

/even worse that Favre left ahead of the first midweek Bundesliga game this season. Gladbach now doesn't have a manager for a crucial league game in 2 days.

Of course there are differences, I was just trying to point out how the mid-tables in the BPL seem to be a lot more aggressive and seem to take a lot more risks compared to the Bundesliga teams. I know Darmstadt's budget is low but a team's budget only partially plays a role in the quality of their squad and play and given that Darmstadt had just beaten Leverkusen, a team that is at least a perennial CL team, I was a little disappointed by their performance.
Just look at the 45passes goal United scored and the Caf raves about. It's a good example how you put an agressive opponent to sleep by letting him chase shadows for a while. Now imagine United doing that not a few times in a game, but doing it consistently for 90 minutes. Is it really so surprising that other teams struggle to maintain being agressive after the 60 minute mark?

You can do that against teams like Manchester City, too?

Wanna know where Klopp is? Not at Liverpool (just messing Liverpool fans :D) Yesterday i saw Klopp at our stadium watching Sporting vs Nacional. Some of my friends didn't believe me but later in the evening the club put it on twitter

Anyone else curious why he denied the job at Gladbach so quickly?

I keep speculating that he's either going abroad, or waits for Guardiola's contract situation to be resolved so he can step in at Bayern in case Guardiola doesn't extend the contract. :)

Anyone else curious why he denied the job at Gladbach so quickly?

Because he has absolutely no interest in coaching a team, which loses not one but two or three key Players after every successful season? Gladbach is basically a smaller version of Dortmund.

Why would he go to Gladbach? He was at a much bigger club before.

Why are you guys still speculating where he will go? It's quite clear that he will join us next year  Just getting to know our stadium, the players and talk to Jorge Jesus :D

Klopp already has some experience dealing with portuguese refs

On a serious note, do you know if he's just on holiday in Portugal or doing some business there?

He was probably on holiday (Since the weekend it has been very hot in Portugal), or he was just doing some football related work in terms of following players for his shortlist or something. We started plenty of young and interesting players yesterday (Paulo Oliveira, Gelson Martins, João Mário, Carlos Mané) who can attract interest from european top clubs in the future. Or perhaps he just wanted to watch some football i dunno. It's funny him going to a Sporting vs Nacional, when Porto vs Benfica was played yesterday. But it's normal to have top european managers in our matches, happens all the time.

Yeah probably on holiday. Jammy bastard, I think he really is enjoying his free time. He was at the EuroBasket in Berlin just two weeks ago and looked really tanned so probably already had a big holiday behind him at that point. Now that the weather turned to shit here in Germany, he's off to Portugal, smart move. Can't really blame him although I'm envious haha.

He was at the Mainz-Hoffenheim game last friday though. Should be interesting at what games he pops up over the next months. He could troll many football fans around Europe with a few carefully chosen appearances :D

I love Opel's new commercial with Klopp too, with the other guy asking him about Manchester and Milan. :D

Too bad Arsenal and Liverpool already played against each other recently. Imaging him watching a dire 0-0 between these two teams, the fans reaction from both sides:drool::lol:

He could show up for the return leg in January. Would be fun, if he hasn't signed for a club at that point yet.

Why no Lewan? That's twice in two games now!

He was injured, wasn't he? Maybe not fully fit yet?

Oh was he? That's acceptable then.

J. Draxler
M. Kruse
B. Dost

Bench:

Whenever I see Gustavo's glorious porn stache I kinda want him back at Bayern.

Klopp (and Watzke) made Dortmund into what they are now, they weren't half as prestigious at that time as they are now. And you could argue that Gladbach has a richer history. But you may absolutely be right. I hope he stays in Germany, though. Aside from Bayern, nobody is as big as Dortmund, so what you say makes me sad. It'd be a huge loss for the league if he went international.

Müller's shot was less dangerous than those two backpasses.

By now every high or half high ball from the flanks into our box makes me twitch.

Did he just say that Rodriguez needs to improve his attacking contribution, but is great at defending? The feck?

Hopefully we are scouting the Munich/Wolfsburg game. Bayern are a lot more of threat but, the Wolfburg had a really good counter a moment ago. Should be a good game for the hours of video we seem to like to do.
