Was I faulting them?Just because they dont stack injury prone players across their back line its hardly their fault

Yep. He's come from Eredivisie at the end of the day. We need someone PL proven.True, it’s like most people decided already he will not be ever good enough to replace Carrick.
If Rooney or Fellaini have to play deeper we're instantly giving our back four significantly less protection than they're used to. In fact it's probably the least protection they'll have had all season. Away from home. Against the best team in the league. Oh and it isn't our first choice back four either. Two of them are missing. Just for shits and giggles.
In this context would it not make sense to replace Fellaini or Rooney with someone who's not going to spend most of the game on the deck, waving his hands in the air, or generally passing the ball to the opposition?
Injury crisis in defence and no cover for Carrick. Some things never change....
I hope the people who said we don't need another CB are taking note.....

Well he got hacked down by one of the worst tackles not to receive a red card seen in years. We have a cover for Carrick but he injured himself, too.
*Ironic clapping for the medical team*
Complete and utter shite...
LB who hasn't played in 2 months
Inexperienced CB
No Holding midfielder
No Rooney up front if he plays midfield
Out of form old strikers if Rooney is in midfield
All this against Chelsea away...
I was confident before seeing this conference, but now I've a bad feeling.

Not just Rooney in midfield. He will potentially be playing DM.
I really hope it's mind games.
You don't think they are lucky that 3 players that were starting last week are now injured and so are their backups?well you were saying they were lucky because of this. Moreover its us choosing to count on injury prone players and not for the first time in recent seasons having major bypass surgery needed for the odd games when the injuries pile up. I mean Fulham battered us under SAF with Carrick dropping into the defence. It happens...to us.

Chelsea have been very lucky lately. They've had winners against Hull, Stoke and QPR that were gifts from the opposition goalkeeper. In all of those games they were in danger of getting no points but have ended up with 9. Chelsea fans know this. It's really what makes champions. It's that extra bit of luck that's outside your control.
Carrick, Rojo or Blind aren't injury prone and Evans is still banned because the FA decided that spitting is on par with racism and headbutts.

When have Chelsea had the equivalent sort of injuries? Like them having Terry, Cahill, Matic and Fabregas all injured at the same time and Zouma suspended - doesn't happen. Why is everyone getting scared? Injuries are part of football, so, we have to deal with it. We still have enough attacking talent to paper over the injuries.
DDG, Valencia, Smalling, McNair, Shaw, Herrera, Fellaini, Rooney, Mata, Young, Falcao.
I'm not saying Rooney or Fellaini playing in DM is great I'm saying it's our only option, which it is.
Whoever moves leaves a space open in the front five positions. Moving Valencia there instead of Di Maria would be atrocious.
You also raise the point that it's not our first choice back four, yet you advocate moving one of the 2 fit defenders from our first choice back four into midfield in order to accommodate, who himself could be described as a defensive liability, and who hasn't played first team football for months.
I just don't get this level of Di Maria hatred.

We were lucky a lot. Take a look at the CL for example. You can't win that competition without it.Well we were called lucky ourselves alot and still are. I dont really go for the luck excuse. They have Drogba up front....we have attacking options coming out of our arse better than him.

By luck I mean things that aren't of yours or anyone's control. Injuries, referee decisions, personal crisis with players etc.
I'm also not saying that Chelsea win this season because they are lucky. It's just they've been very lucky lately. They're coasting with the title instead of maybe having to deal with pressure form Arsenal or United.

I agree about our back four but Carrick, Blind and Rojo? I don't think they have been injury prone at all. The frustrating thing about this is that they all play or cover for the same positions and I think that's purely luck. I wouldn't be surprised if we went back to 3 at the back with Blackett and McNair flanking Smalling and midfield of Rooney, Herrera and Mata with Fellaini and Falcao up front.Thats because their first choice are not injury prone. Look at Rafa our bench back up for Valencia. As injury prone as they come so the chances of needing a third choice behind him increases significantly over a full season. Its not luck...its probability.

Is it possible Louis is just giving away this game to ensure maximum fitness for those four players for the lead up to Arsenal, probably the decisive match in the battle for second place, next month?
Carrick and Blind have put on a lot of miles on their legs in recent months. Rojo and Jones, not so much.
