Carrick so far...

I'm still undecided on Carrick to be honest. He is an improvement over what we had because he can keep possession, and is a good passer. But he seems to fade in and out of matches. Also Fergie has so much faith in Fletcher, and yet he is such a similar player to Carrick, I can't see them both fitting in our midfield.

For one thing... Carick's no Keano. The influence he has on the team is nothing yet. He hasn't got the personality to be noticed on the pitch so that's why he fades in matches. But in ability he's a real neat person to have in your squad. If only he had the leadership keane had he might actually be complete....

Needs a more aggressive, defensive minded player next to him to do all the dirty stuff. Hargreaves is that type of player, and he can also control the tempo and pick a pass when needed, so all resources should have gone into getting him, or a player of that type first.

It seems like more of a concentration problem rather than a personality problem to me. I havent seen him perform consistently well for 90 minutes. He should be noticed for his ability not his personality. Scholes is consistent yet he is not a leader, nor a big personality.

Totally agree, but I still think we paid over the odds for Carrick, and I hope, if it happens, that we don't do the same again with Hargreaves.

Wrong, he needs an agressive attacking player next to him

Don't agree. I think we have more than enough attacking options from midfield. What we need is someone more defensive minded, who will chase and close down the opposition midfield, like Davids did at Spurs, and allow Carrick to play his passing game and set the tempo. If he can also add to the attack, even better, but it's not that important for me.
