It’s Carrick you know
You need to learn what a good performance isNah, you need to put your Carrick boner away.
Cambiasso didn't misplace a pass, and was Inter's best attacking AND defensive player.

You can always trust him to keep possession. I was crying out, give the fecking ball to Carrick when we're getting dominated. He gives me that assurance that Scholes normally does. That said, Fletcher was better than carrick today.

ANYONE who watches Cambiasso throughout the game would see an immense performance.
He is a Championship midfielder.
He was never good enough for Inter.
You need to watch the game, and not Carrick.
ANYONE who watches Cambiasso throughout the game would see an immense performance. I'm a United fan, but I can see he was the best player on the pitch.
Cambiasso 81% passes complete
Carrick 84% passes complete
Fletcher didn't do anything with the ball, he didn't even cover as much distance as Carrick, what game did you watch?
I do watch the game, that's why I picked up on the quality of Carrick ahead of the likes of Diarra and other candidates to replace Keano.
Cambiasso was their best player, he as part of their midfield still got picked off by the passing of Carrick and others, he wasn't very good at stopping us playing which was his job.
You're so biased towards Carrick that you can't see a good performance from any other player. Its annoying at times. Both Fletcher and Cambiasso were better than him today even though he was fecking excellent too.

My sweet jesus,
Since when does 3% of a passing percentile determine who had a better match?
fecking daft.
That's mostly because he was doing it on his own. Their midfield had a poor shape too because Muntari was too wide on the left (and shite), and Stankovic too advanced (and also shite).
It's pedantic I know but I was replying to the character who said 'ANYONE who watches player x' comment, which is a 'I know what I'm talking about, dont' you?' sort of statement.
His arguement was that he 'didn't misplace a pass'.
Taken from the telegraph match stats by the way.
I agree, he was their best player, but he wasn't as good as either Carrick or Fletcher. We controlled the midfield. Carrick was a big part of that. Cambiasso still had a good game.
That was me.
A pass can be not misplaced but still not complete. The stats do not tell you all.
The point might have sounded heavy-handed, but what I was really trying to get at is that I was keeping a particularly close eye on the player and that anyone who had done the same would have seen the same. It was actually intended as the opposite of arrogance - i.e. anyone who focused on Cambiasso during the match would see what I was talking about.
Fletcher was the best midfielder on the pitch. He seemed to do all the running and he was generally all over the place. Carrick did alright but it was no masterclass as some were suggesting. Some people do really wear red tinted glasses when viewing certain players.

Fletcher did his thing but there is a mile between them in use of the ball on the night.
Spot on this man.
I think Cambiasso bossed the midfield in the second half, he was everywhere defensively and offensively. Missed an absolute sitter too.
According to MUTV Carrick covered the most distance on the pitch, I presume the UEFA stats told them that

The pass to Giggs which he used to turn that shite defender in the first half and run through, in the second he played an early pass to Giggs that led to his shot late on, the pass to Rooney which was flat out amazing, there was one in the first half to Ronaldo that wasn't easy to gather but still inside the fullback and would have sent him free. There are others I'm sureIn what way ? serious question. If you're talking about an early game pass that Fletcher hit that skied over Ronaldo compared to a long diagonal into space for Rooney the yes. I'd be interested to see the chalkboard.
I thought Carrick kinda hid tonight whereas Fletcher was always looking to get involved. Both were excellent and the foundation on which United took a point.
Yet if you watched the game, you would realise that Fletch was doing most of the pressing whilst Carrick was sitting in front of the cbs a lot more. That's obviously what I meant by Fletch being all over the place. I was not having a go at Carrick.
I didn't say you were, I was pointing out that Carrick really was all over the place, more so then Fletch in any case
Agreed.Cambiasso did boss the second half but that must have been that he fouled every time we were close to getting through. He stopped everything through fouling. I can't believe he wasn't booked.
Cambiasso vs Carrick thread?
