Yaaas Broncos!
Probably because it turned to absolute shit.
He should have just left it with the statement of not remembering it but apologizing if it did happen. There was really no reason to go on about his sexuality, which at the end of the day is not the issue. Whether he had done this to a 14 year old girl, boy, or some other gender the issue does not change. There are very human beings I loathe more at this moment.
This snivelling piece of shit because he's scared to face backlash as a creep/predator decided to come out to deflect the issue, despite the fact that he's literally had ample chances to come out over the past 20 years, but didn't and claimed "private life".
Gay people have been struggling for decades to end the gay=pedophilia/'preying on young boys' tag that conservatives and christians have helped perpetuate, but this moron decides to once again shift the conversation to that, by attempting to use his coming out to cover his abuse of a 14-year old, thereby conflating the two.
I wish him nothing but misery for the rest of his existence, prick.
Not surprised to now see the story coming out (was told years ago by Spacey's brother) about their father being a sexual abuser. As horrible as that is, two wrongs don't make a right.
He told the whole world ages ago.. you can look it upKevin Spacey's brother told you that?
Spacey has been my favourite actor for years. This news has shocked me to be honest. I've never heard of anything dodgy about him before and if anything, I thought he was just a very busy man in the field of acting.
Seems to appear that he is more similar to Lester Burnham than we think.
I guess the next few weeks will be critical for his reputation and career.
RIP House of Cards thanks to Spacey's retroactive issues
I'm not sure why there is much surprise over Spacey's comment, it's the only thing he could have done.
Saying, "I don't remember what happened 30 years ago, but if it happened I'm sorry" raises scrutiny on his sexuality. For example, I may or may not have snogged some random (consenting) chick at a bar 5 years ago. I absolutely did not snog some random bloke at a bar 5 years ago. Because I'm not gay.
Notable to observe that he didn't victim blame. It was a carefully crafted statement. It wasn't the best time to come out, but when is?
If more people come out against Spacey then I'll reconsider this stance. Otherwise if we're crucifying him on one accusation, then fecks sake.
Hard for me to not imagine Spacey turning to the camera, disdaining the stupid public ala House of Cards.
Edit: On bolded. He could have just shut the entire feck up. Purely from a self-preservation basis, regardless of whether he did it or not. Just shut the feck up. I'm surprised this isn't part of Public Relations 101.
Will PM you the gist of it.

He's said for years that his sexuality is nobodies business but his own and then he chooses to come out when he is accused of sexual assault. Clearly he is using it to deflect from the seriousness of the allegations and he has been called out by quite a few people on this but I think Zachary Quinto sums it up perfectly:Yeah I'm failing to see the issue with him coming out to be fair. He's wanted to keep his sexuality hidden but he couldn't with this story.
On first read i actually thought fair play at least he's not hiding behind a false perception that he's straight.
Have sent it.Would appreciate a PM too if possible. Must have been ignorance but I didn't know anything about the rumors of Spacey.

Hoping others come forward.
Any chance of Pm'ing me too, please?Have sent it.

Maybe the thread title could use an update to encompass all these Hollywood cases?
Spacey had no reason to hide his sexuality other than his own choice. These accusations didn't change that, he's put himself right out there now and it's harder to see why he'd do that for any legitimate reason than it is to see that it's deflection.
Quinto is right, why do it now?
Seth MacFarlane has gone up in my estimation. I love the way he calls these cnuts out.
I sort of understand why people are accusing him of trying to deflect attention, but I also kind of don't. He wanted to keep it private, but it sort of becomes relevant when you're accused of trying it on with a bloke. I don't see how him admitting his sexuality, hidden at the bottom of a lengthy apology letter, is supposed to detract from that? We all know what he's accused of, and if he's found guilty then let's hope he gets what he deserves.
Until such time though, I can't say I'm comfortable with everyone on twitter selling him out already as if he's Weinstein part 2.
Vile as ever, Will. The truth is that he's not being attacked for what he said, but for the embarrassment to the 'cause' of what he did. The last thing politically correct liberalism and the gay movement want is to revive the link between homosexuality and paedophilia they have worked so hard to censor from public discourse. Because of his fame, Spacey's story is a setback in the public cosmeticization of homosexual life. Hence the anger.

There's always been something wrong with Kevin Spacey. Something not quite right. And it's come out (quite literally) now. This Harvey Weinstein thing is going to expose others in Hollywood as well. They should face justice. When is something going to happen to Bill Cosby?

How so?This entire thing should remove all traces of passion and masculinity from hooking up in the future.
How so?
