Celtic v Manchester United - Pre-Season Tour

If Valencia is injured then perhaps start Fletcher on the right and go with Hargreaves in the middle.

It will be interesting to see who shows up for training today, that would be the squad for America more or less I would expect

What about Tom Cleverley on the right? Or is he a centre mid?

He has played on the wings at Watford and England youth levels, but SAF and some of our staff have said he is strongest in the centre.

Hope to see him on this tour so we can get a look at him before he's loaned out (if he's loaned out).

Will this be shown anywhere in the UK that isn't MUTV?

I assume not going by previous years.

SkySports News usually show the goals though, and of course it'll pop up on the net somewhere.

I think it's Friday morning. The game v MLS all stars is on at 1:30 am on a Wednesday :(

nope - it is Friday night/Saturday morning (which means I am going to miss it....)

It is on at 7pm local time on the friday and they are 5 hours behind UK/Ireland.

So technically the Kick Off time is 00:00 Saturday 17th (for us)

Thanks for that. Was hoping to see a bit of him again.

Cheers, make's it a bit more bearable I suppose.

Most likely no. There's a tradition of giving two more weeks off for players participating in a WC/EURO/Copa America.

I think SAF said players in the WC will be given an extra 28 days rest from the date when they got knocked out.

or any other continental tournament ... see Fortune, Park and Yorke.

It has been said Hernandez will join up with the squad sooner than that in order to get himself used to the training/players/style etc. I know he is def penciled in for the Chivas game on the 30th, but i think he might be joining the squad in America before that.

Yeah the Chivas game was part of the transfer deal, I hope he joins up sooner, I'm actually very excited about Hernandez. Granted I've only seen youtube videos of him and about 60 minutes playtime at the WC, but he does look like a very good player and with today's prices £10m may well be a snip.

Lads, Will it be difficult to find a stream for this as its on MUTV? Anyone know if this is on US tele? I paid for a few month MUTV last summer to watch the friendlys but couldnt be bothered paying for it this year.

The squad hasn't even been declared...probably along the lines of:

Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Amos; Rafael, Neville, Brown, Evans, O'Shea, Smalling, Fabio, De Laet; Valencia, Fletcher, Hargreaves, Gibson, Scholes, Giggs, Obertan, Welbeck; Berbatov, Owen, Macheda, Diouf

Maybe a few youth players as backup. Low on right wingers other than Valencia.

Right so Hargreaves, Nani, Valencia (apparently) and Owen are out ... I'd say Cleverley, Javier Hernández, and Corry Evans in.

Hernandez was United's last man standing in South Africa--I see no way he's even in the squad.

Hernandez will meet up with his new team-mates on the summer tour of America in time for the match against his former club Chivas in Mexico. And Phelan says everyone at United is looking forward to linking up with the 22-year-old.

"We were quietly pleased with what we saw of Javier at the World Cup,” Phelan told ManUtd.com.
United seem to think he'll be joining them in America.

we will play chivas on the 30th
hernandez might miss the first 4 games .. or some of them
anyway , diouf/kiko/welbeck/berba are good enough

I get paid on the 15th, but i'm more excited about this game :D

Right now that thats over can we now get on with the real thing.

Correct me if Iam wrong but isnt Cleverley injured as well? Irrespective of that I think Welbeck Giggs Obertan and probably Gibson will provide enough cover on the wings.. We could even use the Da Silva twins out there..
