I would go with the same team but rest Nev and Giggsy. Fletcher can play right mid with Ronaldo on the left, and Brown can fill Gary's spot.

Why have you made both threads before either match has been made?

Fergie said that he will make a couple of changes for the game against Celtic.

3-1

i think we'll hammer them and get the job over and done with pretty quickly...then make some late subs and conceed a goal

saha hat trick :D

other than that, it should just be a standard day at the office

tHAT WILL BE LIKE YOU WERE GOING TO HAMMER US AT oLD TRAFFORD MATE

NO OFFENCE AS I HOPE UNITED WIN THE LEAGUE BUT AGAIN YOU ARE FAR TOO CONFIDENT BEFORE PLAYING US. OUR RECORD AT HOME IN THE CL IS AS GOOD AS THE VERY BEST SO DONT GET TOO COCKY.

A DRAW WILL DO US AS IT KEEPS UNITED IN THE MIX GOING INTO THE LAST GAMES MEANING UNITED NEED A POINT V BENFICA

2-2 HESSELINK 1ST GOAL AGAIN

Obviously we need to stick with todays team to keep in top form for the chelski game and guarantee qualification.

3-0 to us, rooney, saha and giggs with the goals.

-------------------Van Der Sar------------------------

--Brown----------Tweety------Rio--------------Heinze--

--Ronaldo---------O Shea------Fletcher-------Richardson-

------------------------------Rooney--------------------

--------------------Saha-------------------------------

Prediction; 0-1 Saha 63min with a shot form outside the box

The Celtic players will be pumped up for this. They'll see this game as a must-win game, whereas for our lads a draw would be a decent result. Nevertheless, I hope we still manage to beat them convincingly.

-------VDS---------
Wes-Rio-Vida-Evra
Fletch-Scholes-Carrick-Ron
---Rooney---Saha

I'd play Wes instead of Gary and i'd also rest Giggs, but otherwise i'd play the strongest team. The players should be fit for the Sundays game then, after all, they are professionals FFS. This "tired" thing after one game is a myth and comes from FM, which is nonsense. I just hope i dont see O'Shea in midfield

------------------VDS-----------------
-Brown------Rio-------Vidic-----Heinze-
Fletcher---Scholes----Carrick---Ronaldo
-----------Rooney-----Saha-----------

Subs: Kuszczak, Neville, Silvestre, Evra, O´Shea, Giggs, Smith

I think Fergie will go for a 4-3-3 again away in champions league. Fletch-Scholes-Carrick central and Ronaldo-Saha-Rooney up front.

Or Carrick-OShea-Scholes central midfield, we played them against Benfica, right?

I'd go with this team selection

Kuszczak

Brown
Silvestre
Vidic
Heinze

Fletcher
O'Shea
Djemba
Bellion

Nevland
McBride

Kuszczak
Wes Rio Vidic Heinze
Fletcher Carrick Scholes IdaretosayRichardson
Rooney Saha

I think its funny how we're trying to convert Bellion into a winger based purely on the fact that he's quick. He has no close control of the ball, and he is too lightweight IMO. He won't last long at United.

Why is Ferguson making changes? If you lose this then your last game is very important. I can't see us (Celtic) losing. From our last 25 European homes games our record is 19 wins, 5 draws and 1 defeat. That defeat was to Barcelona when Larsson came on to rescue the game for them.

Our right back Wilson hasn't played since he broke his foot at Old Trafford and I'd swap any player to get him back as it means we're stuck with Telfer (one of the worst players to play for Celtic). Caldwell also looks likely to miss out.

Likely team:

-----------------Boruc----------------
Telfer-----McManus---Balde-----Naylor
Nakamura--Gravesen--Lennon--Maloney
-----------Venegoor--Miller-----------

subs: Marshall, Wilson, McGeady, Sno, Jarosik, Riordan, Zurawski.

Naka was fantastic yesterday, as he usually is at home. If he's at his very best we'll certainly not lose and hopefully win. He really is world class at his best and has shown this against the likes of Brazil. He controls our play when he's on form and he loves playing at Celtic park.

Balde has only started 1 game this season so could be rusty. Naylor has been a great signing, SPL player of the month last month. McManus has been rock solid. Ronaldo v Telfer - I dread the thought of that.

Gravesen got a hattrick last week and will be full of confidence. He'll be all over the pitch. Lennon was excellent yesterday and got motm on our website. Maloney is not fans favourite atm because of the contract situation but he was also at his best yesterday.

Vennegoor got 2 goals yesterday while Miller won't give the United defence a moments piece.

Prediction : 2-1 Celtic. Nakamura man of the match. :)

Agreed, you've got a great chance, especially if we play a couple of jokers.

I saw you lot against Barca the year before last at the Nou Camp, it was fantastic. And I think, Larssen aside, you have a better side now.

We are going to lose this game and then bottle it against Benfica again...

I know it sounds daft, but I wouldn't mind losing this as long as we dick Benfica.

Putting Benfica out and seeing both ourselves and Celtic going through would be good, if only to see Benfica fecking cry.

I hate those fecking cnuts after last season.

Really don't think we should chop & change the centre of the team so:

Gabby & O'Shea in for Gaz & Evra.
Rest Giggs, Ronaldo on the left, Fletcher on the right, Richardson on the bench to replace Scholes at half-time (if were able to).
Don't know if i'd play Smith...i'd be inclined to keep with Saha as i don't think Smith is up to it nut again hopefully we can replace him before the 90mins.

VDS
O'Shea - Ferdinand - Vidic - Heinze
Fletcher - Carrick - Scholes - Ronaldo
Rooney - Saha

I cant see us not beating you. At this rate, on this form of United, we could beat you regardless of your great record. We did it agaisnt Blackburn (we had a horrible record against them) we did it to Sheffield as well (horrible record at Bramal lane as well). At the rate we're going, we can beat any team, regardless of the fecking records.

Well said Plechazunga

Another classic in store - 2-2 draw I think. I dont think there will have been an atmosphere like this before anywhere.

A United support who are up for it like we were at O.T and the best home support in Europe. What a night and both teams hopefully to qualify

C'mon the hoops

Reckon we'll win, so long as Fergie doesn't dick about with the team too much.

No doubt it wont be easy though, and if we're not at it you can guarantee Celtic will turn us over.

I'd rather see Celtic through than Benfica, but I'd rather see us through tomorrow than needing a result in the final game again
