Celtic vs Manchester United

No Berba, Tevez, Evra, Rooney, Anderson or Gary Neville upfront :nervous:

No ' Shea back... O panic indeed.

United are also the only side (along with Chelsea) that are yet to concede a goal in this year’s competition. Celtic will be looking for their first win in the campaign.

A day is a long time in football! ;)

Chelsea conceded three yesterday

Giggs to play behind Tevez with Ronaldo roaming I reckon. No a bad line up lets hope it can do the business

So.. I wonder how this one really works out. Is it:

--------------- Foster -------------
Rafael -- Ferdinand - Vidic -- O'Shea
--- Fletcher --- Carrick --- Giggs ---
Ronaldo ------ Tévez ---------- Nani

Or

--------------- Foster -------------
Rafael -- Ferdinand - Vidic -- O'Shea
Nani --- Fletcher -- Carrick --- Giggs
------- Ronaldo ----- Tévez --------

Edit: Didn't see the other post above ._.

Well its a strong squad we have. Trust in the quality of players out there to do the job. Either way we have more firepower on the bench if we need it. Lets hope Tevez plays like a striker on a mission tonight.

I don't like the line up, there are 3 wingers and only one forward (which isn't even good with his head when we're playing against a scottish side)... We're gonna dominate the midfield but wont be able to create chances (or to finish them). I really hope i'm wrong, anyway the important game is the one on Saturday.

Fletcher---Carrick---Giggs---Nani
----------Ronaldo---Tevez--------

Would like to think Giggs is CM, his vision will be crucial

4-5-1 / 4-3-3 probably.

--------------Foster------------

--Rafael Ferdinand Vidic O'Shea--

------Fletcher Carrick Giggs------

--Ronaldo--------------Nani-----

-------------Tevez--------------

On reflection.

I reckon that's a class team to take on Celtic.

They'd of wanted us to play with two front men, and play the ball up to Berbatov.

With this team our movement and passing should kill 'em.

-------------Foster-----------
Rafael----Rio---Vidic---Sheasy
------Fletcher----Carrick------
--Nani-----Giggs-------Ronaldo
-------------Tevez-----------

That's the beauty of our squad, the team we have out still has us guessing because our players are so versatile.

I assume you're counting Gigs as a winger? He hasn't been a winger for about 3 seasons!

Disrespectful line up, Ronaldo's not a striker and Tevez certainly isn't a lone centre forward (He's a loan centre forward). Wouldn't be surprised if we dropped points here.

How did you work that out?

Anyway, off 'tut pub.

Where the feckkkk is Possebon ?

Really thought he could have had a run-out today!

We are resting players for Arsenal.

At least Celtic doesn't have their strikers available for this game just a young lad on his own.

Let's hope we get a good result.

Tevez is good with his head. It's just he doesnt get that high off the ground. Besides, Ronaldo wont be too far behind.

I agree, we should have played a stronger team than this.

If we lose tonight, then go to Villareal and lose there. Then it's gonna be panic mode again.

Quality wise the side is more than fine. It'll all be down to which set of players want to win the match more. Being at home and being Celtic, you can expect them to play with passion. If we match them we win.

Hmm, we'll have to see how well Celtic close us down and thus isolate our forward(s).

It's an XI that can do the job, but whether they do or we need the cavalry i'll get back to you at half past.

Hmm not really fond of Ronaldo or Giggs as strikers.

Nani's really hit form recently but I would have liked to seen him play against Arsenal, may still happen.

Good line-up, our bench is insanely good as well. It's pretty obvious Fergie is resting Van der Sar, Rooney, Berbatov, Evra and Anderson for the weekend game against Arsenal. Carrick gets another game (we'll desperately need him at the Emirates), so does Tevez. That midfield in particular looks very strong - Nani and Ronaldo are just about to hit top form, Giggs has played well so far this season in central midfield and a combination of Fletcher and Carrick to shield the back four should definitely work in our favour. My only concern is seeing Tevez as a lone striker, but in reality he won't be on his own but supported by either Nani and Ronaldo.
Awesome to see Foster get a game as well, I hope he stays injury free and picks up some form over the coming weeks. If we avoid free kicks in dangerous areas and be a bit more clinical in front of the goal than in the last weeks we should definitely get at least a draw.

I don't understand why both Rooney & Berba are on the bench. I would have started Rooney & Tevez up front then if needed, we could bring Berba on the 2nd half. Hmmmmm, not sure about this TBH :nervous:
