CFR Cluj v Manchester United

I'd never realised RVP has a knack for putting in meaty challenges every now and again... did he do this at Arsenal too?!

Now, obviously, it's a side in Vampire country that've been named by drawing random letters out of a hat, but still, with a bit of tweaking, this could be the germ of something much better here.

Add Kagawa into the mix, and a touch of width to give an option on one side (either one, if it's Nani, the one he can play on if it's Tony) and this could be the start of something.

Possibly.

So, Giggs & Scholes for Sunday it is then.

Agreed, Nani and Kagawa somehow slotting into this at various points would probably be something very good. Even maybe Valencia instead of Anderson at times?

Sounds crazy but by god I am crazy.

I know an extremely good looking girl with 3 extremely good looking sisters.

They are from Cluj, so, it must be awesome.

There have been very few really entertaining away games in the champs League over the last few years. This is who we are. Inter Milan from the early 80's, except shit at the back.

A goal now would probably be enough to bring on the subs.

Somebody score..

Your team is winning 1-2, not really what I consider to be a waste.

What were you expecting, we have had umpteen similar away CL games over the years

I would have expected Cluj to atleast make an effort at home. They are just happy to sit back and defend.

Plus, there is no atmosphere, its like they are playind behing closed doors. It's not easy to stay up at 2 in the morning, watching this alone. I have been yawning like crazy.

We have just stopped playing a bit.

20 mins left.

Could be dangerous.

Need a sub or 2 soon imo.

That 'attack the space thread'...someone needs to bump that and use this in evidence. It's like our players have some sort of allergy to running into open space with the ball!

Still, this midfield is miles better.

I think Fergie would rather be bored shitless than see us cock anything up tonight.

No complacency but no fun

We're just gonna pass it around casually without any intention of scoring another, until they score, right?

This is idiocy. You know what, one of the centre-halves usually comes forward more. How about the 1-1-2-2-1-2 formation?

It's what it's called, dunno what to tell you. Just calm down

It's called a diamond or a 4-1-2-1-2, google it if you don't believe me. Surely you can understand why? Theres a DM, two centre mids, an AM, then two strikers.

This opposition are really poor and we're making hard work of it. Very dull.

Lovely disguised pass by Clev

I'm with whoever said earlier to put Kagawa in for Chicho, and then move Rooney & RVP up a position each. That seems like it would work. And when our defence isn't as cak as a yak in a crap hat, we don't need all 3 of the holding(ish) players, so Nani in for one of them, Buttman for the Ghost of Patrice Evra and that's a Bingo!

The only problem I see is that Rooney simply can't not play in every available space on the pitch, and would probably end up negating Kagawa somehow.
