CFR Cluj v Manchester United

This is idiocy. You know what, one of the centre-halves usually comes forward more. How about the 1-1-2-2-1-2 formation?

Many teams play with the same 5 players remaining in deference at all times, whilst others have only 2 constant defenders whilst another 5 or so rotate.

I suggest we move to a: (Fixed Defensive) - (Loose Defensive) - (Loose Attacking) - (Fixed Attacking) system.

I reckon we are playing a 3-2-2-2 system. As a grammar enthusiast I hope you agree with me.

This is so boring, but boring in a good way I guess, cause our midfield aren't getting raped.

It is typical of what the CL group stage has become. I suggested this last season, although it backfired on me in spectacular fashion.

But 9 times out of 10, negotiating the group can be a bit of a procession

It think it's been dull, more than a procession, even going out was dull.

Are the people saying this is dull just the "I find Barca's football dull" brigade tyring to save face? I'm quite enjoying this tbf.

I like watching our players pass well to each other. Beats watching the last 5 matches.

I'm with whoever said earlier to put Kagawa in for Chicho, and then move Rooney & RVP up a position each. That seems like it would work. And when our defence isn't as cak as a yak in a crap hat, we don't need all 3 of the holding(ish) players, so Nani in for one of them, Buttman for the Ghost of Patrice Evra and that's a Bingo!

The only problem I see is that Rooney simply can't not play in every available space on the pitch, and would probably end up negating Kagawa somehow.

Yeah that's what I would do, though somehow I miss the marauding the wings of Manchester United fame, but this formation reminds me of early last season (when we spanked city in the second half of that community shield) and I do like holding possession especially if it means our defense gets some respite without vidic.

Well, that's something tactical that SAF will have to sort Rooney out, I mean, he did that full season up top without dropping back all the time so I suppose it could happen again.

Off-Topic. Puyol just broke his arm, painful to watch.
