I don't think Gimenez is being punished for the Bayern game penalty. He just turned 21, Savic is 25 and has had 3 full seasons in Italy. He is simply more experienced even if Gimenez is more talented.
Considering the Madrid derbies and form this season i would say Atletico is the favorite, however Real is a much more unpredictable team and if CR, Bale, etc, show up it can make a difference.
