Champions League QFs (11th - 19th April)

We should have had a penalty and Mandzukic should have been sent off this game. We should ask to replay the game and this Polish dude should be banned by UEFA from refereeing any Champions League game again.

At least put them off for watching the game next time.

Barca need new blood and more quality. Rakitic, Gomes, Roberto, Mathieu, Ter Stegen are nowhere near good enough to start/play for them

Dont particularly care (although i think they might just do it again), but these comments seen punished would be pure and utter bliss for the balance of the universe. I'd feel that way if it was the other way around and juve needed the four goals. I'd give 50 euros for barca to do it just to quote this stuff next week.

You seem weirdly agitated. The original poster makes a fair point, continued talk of the PSG game will be nauseating.

Messi was very good and created two or three certain goal chances out of nothing with three players from the best defensive unit in europe surrounding him almost the entire match. And the way they still often could not get the ball and hoofed it away in panic vs him shows what a genius he is.

Bet Pogba is regretting leaving right now. I mean looking at this Juve side, there's little doubt that Paul Pogba has taken a backward step in his career

Nice wum attempt.

Don't want to play devil's advocate here but he does have a point doesn't he?

Don't you think Pogba is looking at his ex teammates leading comfortably the Seria A and being close to the CL semis, while he's at fifth place challenging for the EL, and not having second thoughts?

Chiellini MOTM.

What a monster. I wonder if we can have a back 5 as strong as Juve's. With Bailly and Rojo leading the way with another top CB.
I'm sure we would have to sell Shaw and bring in a promising LB.

This tie is as good as done IMO. Juventus are well capable of hitting Barcelona on the counter and I don't think there's much of a chance of them conceding 4 (or 5 if they score). PSG was one story, they are not that great but Juventus are a class team with brilliant defence.

Would be funny to come back from 4-0 against PSG only to (possibly) get knocked out in the very next round. :D

I read it as him being cocksure instead of not looking forward to people mentioning psg in the coming week.

Still, it's a very logical step to bring up an actual fact, proof of having done it before and done it recently in a discussion of "can they come back?" don't you think? Weird that it would nauseate you.

He already reached a CL final and won Serie A with Juve but has unfinished business in England. Things change quickly in football and it's not like the club aren't showing ambition to get back to the top.

Juve had a legit goal disallowed and Mandzukic got a yellow for foul by Roberto

First, everybody stopped, so there is not goal disallowed. It's a wrong offside call, just like the one that was offside but Higuain was allowed to go 1 on 1 with the keeper. Point is Barca was on the wrong end of most refereeing decisions tonight.

We are not even close to having a back 4 like juve's. Alves-Bonucci-Chiellini-Sandro is too much height strength pace and pretty much everything a backline needs.

Actually Marciniak is a pretty good ref.

Just because you don't get carried by referees it doesn't mean a referee is a bad one, I know it's hard to accept but still.

but when PSG played a beautiful game vs barca at home people were praising them on here and saying how amazing they were just like people are doing now? They turned to jelly at Camp Nou and it's only after that second match that people can now revise their opinion of PSG. they were every bit as imperious or even more so in their first leg vs Barca.

Let's see.

Don't think so. Italian teams are 'experts' at defending leads. And Juventus has a superb defensive 'central line' in Buffon, Bonucci and Chiellini. Will be very surprised if Barcelona 'goes through'.

It isn't like the PSG backline is garbage. I'm sure Allegri will setup the team no different than Emery. Sit deep and hope to catch Barca on the counter.

Sure, sure.

He's a good ref. Just that he didn't award a penalty and didn't send off Mandzukic for diving and hiting all game.

who is the guy on the left on the preview? Feel like i recognise him

The guy with the beard is Andrea Agnelli, the Juventus president. The guy in front of him is John Elkann, his cousin. He is the head of Exor who control Juventus, Ferrari and Fiat Chrysler.

Most be a very unusual feeling, I can see why you're upset

Agreed. But we are a bit small time on here it's the smaller club syndrome that we United fans normally deal with from the dwarves in our league. Don't mind the caf too much, they are salivating at the thought of Barca going out.

Because it's boring. I'm not ruling Barca out by any stretch but just because they've done it before doesn't mean jack.

Have some stmpathy, you guys know how it feels when the whole of Germany hate you and blame you for refereeing decisions because they are small time... and between barca and juve there is one club who has been demoted for being shady and it's not the one from Spain...

Juve don't provide the same global exposure that playing in England does. Look at Dybala, most of the forum apparently never saw him before despite being one of the inform forwards in Europe over the last 2 seasons.
For all of the Juve talk, it still is the quarter finals. It's not as if they won the thing. He knew which Competitions both sides were in before the season started.

Great performance and great result for Juve. Does Nedvěd have any job at the club or was he just a spectator?

He is Vice President. Not sure what all his tasks are, but he represents us at all the draws, serves as a liaise between the board and the sporting staff and is part of the group of people who decide on transfers.
