It's not just this year. A decent Barcelona dominated the ball against Pep's (possession is king) City too. There is honestly just something very different about how these players are coached to play possession. I mean I can see an English team smashing a Spanish one but I'd never see them being able to dominate possession unless there was a huge quality gap between them. It's a bit like no matter how good a team they are New Zealand and Fiji rugby players will always be the best offloading teams in the World.
