He's had a great season, but the best non-Ronaldo player this season for RM, for me, is Modric. Marcelo is also having an excellent season.
Modric missed half the season, I'd have Isco ahead of him because of that. And I think Carvajal has been more impressive than Marcelo.

Hard to say precisely, it's true that they've looked better with him in the side generally, but he's been out for about half the season so... Agree on Marcelo. Isco was the outstanding player for most of the period that Modric was out though.

...and you can see how much they missed him in that time. (Also it was only 2 months missed?). His absence coincided with RM's lull and since he's been back they've been a lot more penetrative.

Isco deputised for Modders in his absence, and although he was class, he didnt have the same influence as Modders.

Carvajal was fantastic in the first half of the season, but I think he's dropped off last month/month and a half. Marcelo has been consistently brilliant, imo.

Can someone PM me a stream for the Real-Atletico game if you have one. Thanks.

EDIT: Got it.

The win stats work against Isco, the results favour James. I was surprised by that, and have plenty of "yes but" explanations, particularly around Modric's availability. But, still, it's enough to make you think that it might not just be the price tag.

Am I the only one who thinks the constant whistling while opposition teams have the ball in Spanish football is just fecking annoying and has nothing to do with any form of decent team support? I mean you can barely hear the singing sections of the clubs over the constant whistling, it's fecking absurd.

Some serious energy so soon in the game.

Poor finish from Bale, but good save at the same time.

It's not just in Spain either. Hate it. It's so lazy and annoying.

How much has this ref been paid? fecking joke of a start.

Andy Townsend: "when they haven't got the ball, Madrid, they're going 4-4-2, Clive."

What a tit.
