Champions League Round of 16 (12th Feb - 13th Mar)

Stupid and naive football from Ajax, got fecked over by the refs but no excuse for that. Seems to be a recurring theme with Dutch teams.

2 away goals pretty much kills the tie. They’ll need to score at least twice at the Bernabeu now

First half was awful, second half was just incredible. I tip my hat to Jan Vertonghen, what a man .. first half he looked lost but my god that second half was special.

Still so hyped. We surely can't feck this up, right?

Ajax should've won this game. So many missed chances.

Shame for Ajax.

They were going against the 3 time defending champions.

fecking disgraceful from Favre. Shite team selection from the start and shit tactics. Feck off.

Not just disgraceful to not start Guerriro from the start, but then not bring him or Bruun Larsen when clearly the offense wasn't working. Dahoud was utter shite, contributing nothing offensively or defensively.

Fecking shit. He's clearly focused on the league and given how they've fecked up the DFB Cup already, he better win it now. 9 goals conceded in the last 3 games now. He needs to sort it out.

He's not focussing on the league, they're simply not that good. They're first by default because Bayern have been horrible. They'll probably crumble as well, they have been crap since the winter break.
Also, apart from the talented Sancho and Reus they're such a nothing team. Lot of good players but no standout.

Favre should have done something Gotze in that position wasn’t working at all in the second half. Hakimi can’t defend. Spurs just bullied them overall.

What did he change when 2nd half started?

He changed the formation from 5-2-1-2 to 5-3-2. Pulled Eriksen deeper and to the left. Played wider with Son and Lucas and pushed the wingbacks up.

You can kinda say though that he fixed his own mistakes. Spurs played very narrow in the first half and Dortmund just stacked the center. Spurs played on the wings in the second half. Something that would go unnoticed was Eriksen was really good at quickly getting the ball out wide in the second half. Like Poch had told him to get it out wide as fast as he could.

Seems kinda simple, but thats what poch did...

Yea they beat Atletico Madrid 4-0 but they aren't that good

They've crippled by injury on both the offensive and defensive end but still I'm mad Favre didn't do anything to change what was going on.

If this is the best team Germany has to offer, then oh man they're in major decline.

Might stick a bet on Liverpool to score more than 3 goals vs Bayern at Anfield ..

As undeserved 3-0 go.. that was very undeserved.

Really? Spurs fully deserved that scoreline, destroyed them in the 2nd half

I did find it annoying how many times Spurs' injuries were mentioned Dortmund's injury list is far worse

Yeah tactically I think Poch got it spot on, Dortmund struggled to keep the ball in the second half. They should've made changes a lot earlier, but credit to Spurs for the way they setup.

Yeah you guys should at least wait until Liverpool/Bayern before you guys continue this tiring debate.

I hate Real Madrid so so much. There isn’t a more jammy team in the CL than these feckers.

Favre can really feck off. Coward and bottler. Watch them losing the title as well.

What a nightmare evening.

How Pochettino nulled Sancho in the second half was masterclass. Sancho value has probably dropped a few after this game.

As quite a few posters have said (and generally been hounded for being idiots) it's one thing doing it in the Bundesliga and another against top clubs. It doesn't mean he won't be a great player but the hype around him is bonkers.

Amazing what difference it makes when Poch doesn't have Davies to weaken our left wing.

Vertonghen makes him look like a League Two player - did everything right every inch of the pitch, from defensive cover to attacking support.

Feck off. You whine about your injuries but Dortmund were without 5 starters.

I'm honestly surprised, I expected a lot more from Dortmund. I get that they have injuries to key players, but so do we.

Second half we totally shut them down and Vertonghen was rampant down that left hand side.

That 4-0 was incredible misleading, they basically scored with every attack they had in the 2nd half. Tottenham also have injuries but like I said, they have a better squad and Poch is also the better manager.

They definitely weren’t playing like it though.

Madrid were there for the taking. Incredible how they got away with this result
Nothing incredible about it. It's the usual Real Madrid in the CL really. Dodgy decisions and then ride your luck to win.

Always feel this is a weird way to judge a league.

They don't have the players at all to play another type of football, did well and created a good amount of chances against a team that simply has more individual quality. Ref didn't really feck them over either. Not to mention that Ajax has been in terrible form lately.

Dortmund’s intensity this game looked like that of a Sunday league side or a team playing a friendly in the alps during preseason. What the feck was that? They were down since early in the second half and played like they were told both teams had signed a contract for 0-0 before the game when at that point spurs were already 1-0 up. Disgraceful performance.
