Champions League Round of 16 (12th Feb - 13th Mar)

Looking forward to tonight, always a lot more interesting when we're still in it. Would everyone rather face Juventus or Atletico in the quarters if it came down to that?

Ronaldo's first real test. Let's see if he can do it without Carrick/Scholes and Kroos/Modric carrying him.

This City team should win, but exploiting that defense could help Schalke. They need to be very clinical though and will probably not have most of the ball. City defend so well as a team that I doubt Danilo will be exposed too much.
An early goal and some nerves could make the impossible happen. With that said I would probably predict 3-0 to City or something like that.

Yep, first of many tests. I wonder, can he put smiles on Juve fans faces? Or is going to be "lucky".
You think he has same typy of jeans like Zidane?

Of course, only tighter.

That has to be the most adventurous Atleti lineup I've ever seen.

Atlético are possibly the best team in Europe at seeing out games with a lead. They just never panic. They struggle when they need to win and dominate their opposition but once they are ahead they are extremely comfortable.

The season they won La Liga they had to draw at Camp Nou in the final game of season to get the title and they did exactly that while not looking particularly fussed with the pressure Barca was putting them under.

Juve still have a slim chance. Early goal would make it very interesting.

As for Schalke, why have they been absolutely smashed in every game since the first leg?

Not expecting much of a fight.

I think I have to bet the city over with their weird CB situation and that offensive a midfield

Easy win for city and don't really see Juve scoring more than 1.

Messi had a goal incorrectly called offside in that match.

But they are a tough nut to crack, I agree.

I
I don't know about that. He's still fared very well in Serie A.

Having said that, if Juventus do get knocked out today it will be very disheartening to spend 100M on a player for CL purposes and he only netted them one CL goal. I'm sure they'll do a lot of restructuring in the summer as the Ronaldo window is a very small one so Juve will need to do everything they can to maximize that.

I reckon Ronaldo will be firing goals in at least until he is 37 at a high enough level.

Atleti probably. Juve would be bouyant if they could come back in this tie and be high on confidence.

Juve have less chance than United had last week, & that's saying a lot... But sigh, I'll watch anyway & pray for a miracle to happen.
