shite game really, needs a 4-4-2 change, probably will happen come the 60 70th minute, then we'll batter the bastards

Ronaldo's been playing more selfishly of late. I think the player of the year awards might have gone to his head. That said, he put in a few decent crosses towards the end of the half.
 
was this first half as boring for you as it was for me? chelsea clearly didn`t wanted to play, they did everything to stop us and didn't care much to attack

Where's the movement, width & tempo?

To be honest..I would rather us lose and the game to be amazingly exciting..than win like this. I know it sounds odd...but its the way I feel. I'm already happy about the league..losing this will NOT reduce that glowing title winning feeling.....

Like a sparring session. Not sure why though, I mean, it's almost like the season's over and they've been forced to play this game.

sounds like a united fan to me. A few years ago we played arsenal off the pitch in a cup final and they ended up winning. I wasnt upset.
 
Scholes has been great as always though.. Best passer of the ball I've ever seen.
 
Disappointing so far. Fergie is allowing Chelsea to dictate his tactics. As always we're at our best playing at pace and width, today its the slow no risk approach which is the same as Chelsea's.
Need to be brave, play at pace and pressure the ball. 4-4-2, Smudge on Fletch off. Won't happen of course.
 
To be fair, we've been moving a little better as the half has gone on. A marked improvement on the long ball we kept pinging up to Rooney for the first 25 minutes.

they are scared and if they lose on penalty kicks, they'll allways can say that it was unfair

let's face it, is true that they lost against the scousers on pk and that's an unfair way to lose, but in both games they did almost nothing to win it during regular time

Spot on.

We don't have the quality and strength in midfield to play this defensive formation.

Both teams are scared to lose - seems about right. Shame really, that said, finals are often cagey affairs.

THis is how we play these type of games. Its nothing new. When and if a goal comes the game should open up.
 
my take is we are waiting for chelsea to come get us... saving the pace for extra time... not what we enjoy watching, but may be effective?
 
Keep Giggs in the free role just ahead of the midfield. Chelsea's midfield is like a roadblock - we need someone running in and around them. But get some width on the right, probably with Ronney and Ronaldo on the wings and Smith up front. That'd give Giggs a bit more to work with if we can stretch the game.

I'll go with that plan.

We've abandoned our traditional way of doing things so far, our core beliefs in terms of football.

Let's start rememebring again.

we need to target essien.... he a weak link at the back..... but hoofing balls up to wayne is a waste of time...


robben will actually work to our advantage... he doesnt track back either so that will open the midfield a little bit more...
