Just listened to the first half on the radio and it seems we are out of sorts, commentators being very critical of our performance and our only clear chance going to Giggs. Can anyone who is watching please elaborate?

yes there is only one clear chance but ronaldo did have 2 shots on goal

Everton have drawn level...and of course Shearer scored (from a penalty) earlier..

Owen gives Liverpool a 2-1 lead...and Portsmouth is holding level at Arsenal...Chelsea up 2-1...

Why in the feck does Ruud decide to do this, the week I moved him out off my fantasy league starting roster?

Only 1 pt behind that Best Team in ze World ever ever (TM) now...

Great performance from Cristiano

:D

Proffessional performance, winning 2-0 at Charlton, everything you can wish for.

Ronaldo man of the match. Created many chances and probably won 10+ free kicks.

Ruud scoring two after improving a lot in the second half. Still not one of his better matches but you can't really ask for more than two goals from a striker. Great positioning.

Keane injured? :nervous: We desperately need him on Sunday.

Howard solid again but a little over ambitious at times.

I heard Ronaldo had a good game and was a constant threat thru out the match!!. :) :)

I think Cristiano will give Lauren a torrid time next week.

Hopefully, Inter will play physical and Vieri will give the Arse defence a few knocks. :smirk:

on wednesday in CL game. :nervous: any news on his injuries?
I think we'll handle Panathanaikos okay, but Keano will be vital against The Best Team in ze World ever ever (TM). :smirk:

I was pretty disappointed that good ol' Mike didn't spot that handball... :smirk:

Ronaldo, so far so good. Never saw him do header but i guess he is damn good at that too.

On MUTV they made the point that whilst he showed some dazzling special effects, and will no doubt be very creative, he lacks essential parts of his game at present, notably getting back to defend when needed. But as he is only 18, he has plenty of time to learn this.

Agreed on that. As long he keeps the opposing right flank busy, we should be right ;) Seriously though, a better team might punish us on that.

Didn't Ronaldo play well - caused Charlton's defence all sorts of trouble & was fouled many times - I reckon he didn't get any favours & protection from the ref.

Hopefully, tonight's performance is an indication that he's settling well altho' I'd like to see him turn it on against tougher defences b4 I confirm him as a wonderkid!

Overall, United was piss-poor in the first half, no thanks partly to Charlton's resolute defending & mainly becaue the United players were very sloppy in their passing & were not running into space. I think we missed the creativity of Scholes.

Somewhat better 2nd half & altho' Ruud was poor in other areas, he again showed his sharpness in front of goal - both his goals were opportunistic!

I keep worrying about our defence - against an impotent Charlton attack, we still allowed them too much time & space in front of goal to pass & shoot & a better attack would have punished United!

Still, 2 goals meant we eventually strolled it, & the good thing is we won despite not hitting the highs - a mark of a champion!
