Chelsea 2017/18 thread - FA Cup Champs, League chumps

Chelsea could be out of the top 4 next Monday if Spurs beat Arse and Chelsea don't beat West Brom.

I wonder how long until Abramovic pulls the trigger, the annoying this Chelsea will probably end up winning the league next season.

It looks like Mourinho got more of the blame than he probably deserved.
Looks like it's the players doing it every time, curious to know why though.

He certainly did, the media put it all down to Jose and his “meltdown” in reality it was quite plain to see the players just give up and forced him out

Same is happening with conte right now. If I was a manager I wouldn't go anywhere near Chelsea

Chelsea is a toxic club for managers to work in, period.

Be it the player power, board interfering with the recruitment or a trigger happy owner. It's like things are aligned against any manager before they have even stepped a foot in, Conte is no different to the others who have suffered the same fate.

What does the FA Cup have to do with writing them off in the league?

My mistake, thought that was a league game then realised Hull aren't even in the Prem anymore

Two wins in the last ten, but they won the league last year. That should buy Conte time but it won't.

Ooof this post match interview on Sky with Conte is feisty!

You normally see a manager getting wound up by the interviewer but this is the opposite!

Looks like Conte's pretty much chucked it.

Interviewer is being a total dick, really trying to rile up Conte.

I do quite like Conte, for whatever reason, he should get the feck out of Chelsea with as much of his rep intact as possible.

He has a new job lined up in Blackpool. As the Clown. He does it very well so he need not be worried about lack of a job.

I'll never forget him jumping up and down like a cnut on the touchline when they beat us 4-0 last year. fecking twat of a man. Couldnt happen to a nicer bloke.

It'll be interesting to see their approach if the rumours of their more frugal spending plan is true. Expectations will remain the same but the resources may not be there to achieve it.

I'm glad he's struggling this season, He should never have took on Mourinho last month, Since he took our manager on, His side's form has dipped.

abramovich needs to get people on the board who understand football. its not him tightening the purse strings, its marina being very frugal.

If Kenyon was still there, theyd be spending shit loads

I can't imagine what Messi will do to them.
Barca will not let up, they love going hard for statement wins.

Us and City away soon in the league, lose both of them and you'd fancy them to finish 5th.

They will probably sack Conte tomorrow morning, but who will replace him? With the upcoming program and potential ridicule, this position is now a poisonous chalice. Every manager knows they will lose to Barcelona and then struggle immensely with Liverpool and Spurs in the league, hence their own reputation can tumble into the abyss. They really should keep Conte until the season is over, because no manager with any respect for himself will take that seat right now. Furthermore; there aren't many candidates out there!

Interim till the end of the season if they can't find someone permanent and then Simeone in the summer probably. But if they can't find a somewhat decent interim then, aye, might be best sticking with Conte.

Hiddink?

Is that the post match interview of this game ? The ads on the background are all Chelsea related, Carabao and Yokohama so this was a home game for Chelsea probably.

It's from their 3-0 loss midweek against Bournemouth, I think.
