Chelsea 2017/18 thread - FA Cup Champs, League chumps

Please sign Peter Crouch. He's a Chelsea fan and has the best WAG in football.

I think if we don't get him we'll be in for Stephen Merchant.

Someone has stitched Chelsea up good with the Crouch story. Just seen £15m quoted!

They way they are plating at the moment is reminding me of the final Jose year there. They seem to have a habit of downing tools so to speak.

Don't get Chelsea's transfer policy the last few years, I think their lack of faith in their younger talent is really hurting their quality at the top-end.

They've £79m on Rudiger, Drinkwater and Barkley, whilst selling Chalobah for £5m and loaning out RLC and Zouma, all 3 of whom (Chalobah got injured I know, but was good before that) have impressed for PL clubs this season.

Surely they could have kept them in the squad and reinvested that £79m on a better midfielder than Bakayoko, or a better RB than Zappacosta, or another ST, or met Juve's asking price for Alex Sandro?

There is no way the Crouch story is true. NO WAY. How can they be THAT desperate!?

So they couldn't get Carroll, so now trying for Crouch.
Conte looks desperate to stand "tall" over Jose at any cost.

Looks like they’re interested in Dzeko.

From Carroll to Crouch to Dzeko. Now that is a scattergun approach.

I reckon they should have gone for Icardi in the summer as opposed to Morata, realistically they are too pragmatic to carry somebody like Morata who even before this year had a history of missing guilt-edge chances. They needed someone more clinical. Morata would have been better suited to Arsenal IMO.

On the note of my previous post, they spent around £200m on Morata, Rudiger, Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Bakayoko and Barkley. I reckon they could have spent that same amount instead of Icardi, Weigl, Sidibe and Dendoncker (just as examples) whilst keeping Zouma and one of Chalobah/RLC in the squad and they'd probably be in much better shape.

A more suited ST to their style, a more suitable CM partner for Kante, a better RB and a young talented DM to add to their ranks, rather than being stock with some of the very average players they have.

I bet Morata is pretty remorseful about missing all those "guilt-edge" chances.

Seems we are after Emerson Palmier and Eden Dzeko. I'd be delighted with both. Get this done Chelsea board.

Dzeko/Vardy and Emerson I'm happy with. Don't know much about Emerson only going on what iv heard which is pretty good stuff.

I'd be happy if we managed to sign Dzeko and Emerson this transfer window. Dzeko is still banging in goals and could help us get top 4.

5th consecutive draw, only three goals scored. No words from the press.
We lost to Bristol and drew three consecutive games, scoring five goals = boring Man United, Mourinho past it, bus parking, shit club etc.
United are the last club that can complain about media bias, Januzaj off all people got a Sport personality of the year nomination on the back of the media wankfest over him.

Spends more time injured than playing since 2013.
To top it off, some deluded Chelsea fans suffering from an unnamed psychological condition is stating that this is a good signing.
Have you got a direct and accurate quote from as much as one person to back that up? Or a CFC fan on YouTube even?

Chelsea's transfers are transfers a mid table/relegation team would go for

Conte won't be happy with the signings and I would be very surprised to see him there next season

This is too much sense for the Chelsea board.

They rather spend money on no-marks which cost them 20-40 million pounds each.

Or scrape the barrel even more and come up with the likes of Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch. What's next? Get Emile Heskey out of retirement? Fecking joke of a football board of directors. Roman should sell off his equity in the club if he isn't interested in Chelsea FC anymore.

how shite morata must have been till they are desperate enough to try getting crocuh :lol::lol:

Ruud Gullit mentioned long ball tactic is suited to beat Barca, so maybe Conte is on the same page.

If they wanted a target man, Giroud would be pretty good. But I am not complaining if they land Crouch of course, such a massive statement from the Champions.:wenger:

Di Marzio has an article on his site saying Dzeko wants to make the move, so that’s cool at least.

The idea of signing Carroll was beyond a joke even for a backup player, still can't believe how some Chelsea fans try to defends it. Dzeko is so much better option and make more sense for Chelsea to sign.

Did I hear Dzenko could go for 50? Has every just decided to discard the age of players when making transfers? he's going to be a bad contract on the books in two years time.

Dzeko would be a great transfer and would fit in well with our current bunch, just wish he was 2 years younger.

He just won’t be able to play in the CL.

No he might be wrong. It’s definitely Palmieri and Dzeko for 40 to 60. Which isn’t too bad going forward.

We should loan Roma Michy in hopes that he can find some form in Serie A.
Hopefully he does enough to convince some mug to buy him, put him 1 on 1 from 6 yards and he will tuck it away, but beyond that he's crap. His respectable goal record keeps him above Sutton, Torres, Kezman but his general play is everybit as bad, if not worse.

Don't think that'll be much of a concern after our next 2 games in it.
I think we have a genuine chance, the one thing we have still is a solid defense and since Christensen has come in we haven't conceded many chances.
