Why is it hard to ignore? Grant and RDM reached the final under completely different context. The only similarity between them being they were all appointed mid-season.

Tuchel came in the week we lost to Sheff Utd, just when we hit that bad run of form. If we win tomorrow then the difference between Tuchel v Ole tallies is the Leicester game where we played our reserves.
The league since Tuchel came in is very misleading imo. He really should be miles ahead with the credit hes getting. Hes barely leading Ole despite coming in with the new manager bounce v right at the start of a rare bad run for us tjis season. It couldnt be timed any more perfectly.
Fair play for reaching the CL final. Its a fantastic achievement but it does lend credence to Ole's point about not measuring progress by cup competitions.

Grant was a bit of a weird one, I have no proof but I personally believe Hen Ten Cate was manager in all but name but that arguments for another day.
RDM and Tuchel are polar opposite situations, with Robbie we needed a manager to push the old guard for one last crack whereas this time we have a new generation of players who were previously undercoached and needed some tactical discipline they previously were not getting.
Couldn't be more contrasting situations.

Chelsea have got the 2nd most points in the league since he joined and he’s taken them from 9th to 4th. With the added bonus that he’s also got them to the Champions League and FA Cup finals.
The football’s been pretty dull in general with some very uninspired performances but he’s clearly opted for a defensive set up as it’s the easiest and simplest method to apply in the shortest amount of time.
If they’re still turning in performances like that by the end of next season you could justifiably have valid questions about his style but it seems odd to question the methods so far. If you’d told Chelsea fans back in January they’d be in the position they are now they’d probably have laughed in your face. Tuchel’s clearly done a good job.

Christ. They were both managing teams filled with world class.players, experienced campaigners, veteran leaders. Stories surrounding both those seasons, but especially Grant in 2008 was the team effectively managed itself. Grant didn't make it to the following season. Things are not quite the same for Tuchel.
A Utd 6 a side team would honestly be sensational to be fair.
And I don't see every manager in existence being compared to the Chelsea manager on the Shed End.

How has he not proven anything in the league ? He's taken the side from 9th to 4th with the 2nd or 3rd most points in the league since he got there.
Fairly certain I argued (in a discussion that wasn't started by me) there was not much difference between the teams, a view the table (which in your words doesn't lie) firmly backed up.
Teams lose football matches, especially when they're in multiple competitions. Get a grip. He's still a really good manager that has clearly made them a more solid unit and will only make them better once he gets in the players that he wants.
