Chelsea under Conte | Let's sign the next Hazard, literally.

It's bs. Inter are very interested in Conte, but right now they haven't even contacted him yet

In the last 15-20 years how many times have we seen someone leave Chelsea when the club intended to keep them.

No chance he leaves after one season. Not with what he's building here.

According to their report, Conte has already agreed to a deal with the Nerrazzuri – worth £12.75m-per-year. The duration of that contract will be four years, and it will see the Chelsea boss replace current manager Stafano Pioli.
Pure nonsense. Especially as his daughter is changing schools to one in London soon. He has finally moved his family from Italy, is settling down in England and doing quite well in the league. He's also been planning for next season, scouting players for us as well. He has no reason to go back to Serie A and try to clean up the shit show that is Inter.

Wow. Conte heading back to Italy? He isn't going to stay to try and prove himself in England? That would be quite disappointing. Who would Chelsea possibly bring in as his replacement? If Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona all have vacancies in the summer things would be quite interesting especially since all of them would presumably be going for the same candidates.

Once that I can remember, Arjen Robben.

How about Gallas? Apparently you guys wanted him to stay, but he was dead set on leaving due to not being guaranteed a starting spot as a CB. He didn't want to play LB. and if I recall correctly he threatened to score an own goal if he wasn't allowed to leave.

That's a good shout actually, I'd forgotten about Gallas. He supposedly wanted more money and a move to Seria A, so we sold him to Arsenal as part of the deal for the much better Ashley Cole. Really good player Gallas, but a massive tit. He caused trouble at Arsenal too if memory serves.

Can't think of any other player in history to have played for Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham. That really says it all about the guy. LOL

That is an iffy one like Gallas as well. He had terrible injury record and as I remember Chelsea were looking for a solution already.

No was was he getting in at CB ahead of Terry and Carvalho. And neither at LB ahead of Ashley Cole (Chelsea were well interested in getting Cole before Gallas fell out.).

He plays similar to Rogers and Simeone.
Do you think Simeone is more successful with his passing and running play because he has a bigger squad?
Better players, focus on not conceding rather than outscoring the opponents. In football, scoring is a hell of a lot harder than preventing the other team from scoring

I remember being really disappointed when he left, I'm fairly sure that was him not us. Then again its not like its a bad record really is it, 2 players in the last decade or two. :)

Conte is so far manager of the season by quite a distance. Obviously hoping that we don't self destruct though.....
Chelsea finished 10th last season and were terrible. This season he has got us playing a completely new system that we have never played before, conceded the second fewest number of goals with David Luiz (everyone ridiculed him) in the heart of the defense and we have scored the most number of goals to. Let's not forget that he has "no experience" in the Premier League and has won titles in a league with no real challenge (Serie A with Juventus)
Chelsea can no longer be accused of being a club that can buy anyone with no care in the world. That title probably goes to the Manchester clubs now
It is great that the top managers are now fighting against each other in the league

It's mental when you think though that Conte now has as many PL Manager of the Month awards as Jose does. It's not really surprising that he always thought the FA were against him.

Just saw an intersting factoid btw, apparently Chelsea are the only side to use all three substitutions in every single Premier League match this season. Wonder what if any impact that has.

This is bs though. His first title was won over zlatan's milan, and his third he won with 102 points. Roma finished second with 85 and lost the last 3 games. They were just ridiculous that season, it had nothing to do with having no challenge

Prove himself to who?

That's a crazy stat given how much Jose has won in England! That said, I'm sure no PL manager goes home and dreams about when they will next pick up the fabled MOM gong.

It must have (quite rightly) pissed him off though. He got as many manager of the years as he did manager of the months!

To add to that, he picked up a Juve side that had finished 7th for two seasons in a row.

The club signing pirlo and vidal helped in that regard, but yes, he did an incredible job there. Before his appointment, bonucci was a punchline and chiellini and barzagli were considered old and done. Look at them now

No one in particular. Just the football world in general. To be considered a top manager, it is necessary to have success for more than one season. If he wins the title two seasons in the row, he would be rightly be considered amongst the best.

Don't forget that Conte has won nothing outside of Juventus at the moment, and also underachieved at international level despite some stunning one-off results. Mourinho has won league titles in 4 different countries. If Conte goes back to Italy it will almost be a bottle job after only one season in England.

Underachieved at the international level despite taking the weakest Italy in decades to within a penalty shootout of the Euro semifinals against the World Cup holders.

I tried but now giving up with your posts, such delusion level just makes a funny read for a while, at the end of the day bs is just annoying though.

I'm sure he's had success for more than one season. Maybe I'm imagining things though.

Like it or not, it was a very winnable tournament. The eventual winners, Portugal, were not exactly a mind blowing side, and quite a few teams had a chance to win it. It wasn't like previous tournaments where Spain were the runaway favourites and crushed every opponent in sight. Yes he was unlucky to lose on penalties but a quarter final is a quarter final, it's an average result. To be considered to have done well in a tournament you have to reach at least the semis. England has reached quarter finals loads of times in tournaments but no one remembers, because it is seriously not a big deal.

And yes it was a very weak Italian side but surely as the national team coach he has some part to play in that. He picks the squad. For starters his insistence on leaving out players who were playing in lesser leagues such as MLS was his decision and his alone. He could also have promoted U21 players but didn't. Yes Italy as a whole has a lack of talented players at the moment, but he does at least have some part to play in determining the strength of his own squad.

He's won multiple league titles in Italy and this'll be his first here - he doesn't have to prove himself to anyone.

It's the whole "the PL is a different kettle of fish compared to the other "easy leagues""... Klopp, Guardiola and Conte are all considered unofficial by PL followers despite their achievements elsewhere... for some weird reason.

Nonsense. You're completely ignoring the way the tournament shook out, which happened to place every strong team on one side of the bracket. If Italy's path to the final had gone through Switzerland, Poland, and Wales then I am positive they'd have made it. Instead they had to play Spain then Germany and would have had France in the semis. Arguing that Conte failed because Portugal got a historically easy draw is perhaps your most ludicrous argument yet, which is an achievement in and of itself. If you want to argue about managers who bottled it historically, look at Wilmots with Belgium, not Conte with Italy.

Also, give it a rest with this team selection bollocks. If Zaza isn't an utter muppet with his penalty this isn't even a discussion. How that is on Conte is beyond me.

IF he does go back I just hope he takes YOU with him.

So he single-handedly made it a one-horse race? And look, it's happening at Chelsea too.

Sign Conte, your rivals disappear.
Yup. I've said it elsewhere, but if united hired conte instead of mourinho, they'd be the ones pissing the league atm Incoming...

Underachieved on the international level? He had players from fecking Sunderland and Southampton starting up front, beat the likes of Spain, and almost beat Germany.

What did you expect that Italy side to do? Win the Euros?
