It would be lovely. Especially since on other social media I remember a few United fans being upset we got Jose because of all the trouble he causes and said we should have gone after Conte because of his class. Plus any chance to laugh at a rival right.
I don't believe this story but I also never believe he will last long. If he's at Chelsea for 3 years it would be a miracle.

I can't really fault Conte's POV if this is the case. Costa's yet to put together a full season without headaches. First season was suspensions/cnut behavior and hamstring issues, second season he downed tools for Mourinho, and third season he downed tools after the China talks in January.
In fairness, RDM was shit and didn't make it out of the group stage of CL. He needed to go.
Because Matic and Cahill are terrible. Costa's a nutjob. If I told you Chelsea would win the league with Marcos Alonso, Victor Moses, Gary Cahill, and David Luiz in the team you'd laugh your ass off. Did you see our bench during the season? There was no depth in the squad. It's a testament to Conte that he actually made these guys look great at various points during the season. He was given a team that was going to fight for 4th and made them champions. Now he rightfully wants to challenge for the CL.
If it's true it's over Lukaku, that would be terrible. But we were in for Tolisso before Bayern swooped in and sealed the deal within days and Bakayoko has been dragging on for what seems like the last two months. That much we know is true. Now if we're going to believe the press, we're not in for Sanchez anymore, the board doesn't want to meet the asking price for Alex Sandro or James, and failed to get Insigne. The squad needs to be reinforced badly. Take into account he's let go of Mikel, Ivanovic, Oscar, and JT in the last 6 months. He wants his full squad for a full preseason because most of their practices are pure tactics. OH and our only consistent attacking threat is missing up to the first month of the season. It'd be a shame to see him leave. It would be MORONIC though to go and sign Tuchel to replace him, considering he was fired from Dortmund for BURNING every bridge at "every level of the club possible".

I'm not surprised this is happening. From what I remember in his Juve days Conte wants autonomy and that's clearly not happening with Roman around.

I had a dream a couple of days ago that he resigned from Chelsea abruptly next season half-way because of disagreement with Roman Abramovich. Would be funny if this is true. Chelsea is a circus merry-go-round for managers, just like Real Madrid but fair play to them as they always seem to get it right even when it seems illogical.
Lukaku doesn't exactly scream possession based forward. My guess is he wants to upgrade the quality of player to make a hybrid of the two styles possible . I don't see him transitioning fully ever and it's why it's unlikely they'd go for Tuchel he'd need a big overhaul and there's no chance he could do a Conte with the squad they currently have.
I will be surprised if he walks but at the same time I can kinda see it happening his stock is at an all time high, he has nothing to lose and he doesn't seem the type to back down. Will be interesting for sure to see how it unfolds.

If this is all over Costa, I can't understand why Chelsea (or more likely Abramovich) are determined to shoot themselves in the foot.
Costa would have walked to China for the money he was being offered in January - despite the fact that if he left it would have damaged their title bid. He seemingly did his best to force the move and I suspect Conte was well aware replacing him at that stage was impossible so did his best to smooth it over to keep the season on track but from then his card was obviously marked.
I'm not surprised Conte has told him to piss off. He was ready to chuck his teammates under the bus for a pay rise. I suspect a lot of his teammates wouldn't mind seeing the back of him as well.
