Analysis to my team
Front six:
With the six front players we can switch our formation from 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 during the game quite often and quickly.
O´Shea instead of Rafael: He`s no doubt not our best defender in the club history but we`ve a lot of clean-sheets with him as starting XI player in the last years (Three in a row now again) and he plays solid.
Ferdinand instead of Smalling: Experience is very important in games like that and he`s still a great defender.
Giggs instead of Scholes: We need pace in this game and with Giggs in team team we can switch our formation.
Hernandez instead of Rooney: Again the pace of Hernandez could be a key against Chelsea`s defenders and Hernandez is our talisman in the away matches too, i think also Rooney needs a little break.
Three defenders on the bench: If Rio is injured maybe in the first half then Smalling comes in therefore i think it`s better Evans is on the bench as someone like Gibson/Obertan/Bebe.

Rooney will probably play despite playing the 90 today, and Berba will play, sadly that probably means Rooney on the left.

this is our game in hand on arsenal, a win will be buge....

I know Rooney eventually got a goal today, but I think Chicharito fully deserves to start the match. He's our second highest goalscorer, and he has scored goals away from home this season, plus he's already scored against Chelsea so the occasion won't affect the lad.

And he hasn´t been a cnut

Arsenal played their game in hand (December game in hand) against Stoke under the week.
They`ve another game in hand against Tottenham coz of the Carling Cup final.
We have equal number of games played now. We're both on 27. Chelsea would have been our game in hand if Arsenal were playing PL football this weekend.

Are Arsenal playing a PL match midweek?

The postponed round had us against Chelsea, and them against Stoke at home. They already played Stoke at home but now have Tottenham away as their game in hand, so at the minute we have Chelsea away and they hace Tottenham away postponed from previous rounds. I'd say these are two equally difficult games.

I think we are capable of getting something out of Chelsea game but we would have to play much better than in any away game so far to stand a chance. Today was promising but if it hadn't been for van der Sar we might have not got a win at all, 4-0 was very flattering seeing as we only really performed well for the last thirty minutes.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: O'Shea
CB: Smalling
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Fletcher
CM: Carrick
CM: Giggs
LM: Nani

CF: Rooney
CF: Berbatov

Subs: Lindegaard, Rafael, Fabio, Scholes, Gibson, Hernandez, Owen

Chelsea have struggled against 4-4-2 this season, and seeing as they play it themselves these days we've no reason not to match them up. If it goes wrong Rooney can easily switch wide

We're due a win at their place but I can see both team settling for a draw so I'll go 0-0

That table's not including today's result. We're four up now, equal number of games played.

That was before the match.

Right now it's 27 games each and us on 60 and Arsenal on 56 points.

Damn Sky were slow to change. Looking at things as they stand I think we have to be looking for 4 points from 6 and I think Chelsea are going to be easier to beat than Liverpool right now.

Why would Giggs play in the middle, Fletcher on the right, and Nani on the left, when actually they could all play in their preferred positions: Giggs on the left, Nani on the right, and Fletcher in the middle. :wenger:

I'd go with that as well.

Giggs is brilliant through the middle, Nani is just as good on the left as he is on the right. Fletcher played on the right today, and that worked well.

Maybe another Fergie master-stroke and surprise Chelski with the formation.

There are more chances of Glazers selling United than Fergie putting out that team.

I'm pleased for Berbatov, that atleast now he is starting a big match, hopefully he can deliver a great performance so that it forces Fergie to start him for all of the big matches, he deserves to be starting in all of them.
Won't be surprised if we go 4-4-2 with Rooney and Berbatov, Hernandez has been brilliant so far but he will be on the bench, he can be deadly if he comes on in the 60th or 70th minute against a tiring John Terry.
I've a feeling we will win this one, 0-2!

rafael----smalling----vidic---evra

fletcher---carrick---scholes---giggs
----------------rooney------------
------------hernandez---------

very similar to the team we put out today, just put in rafael for o'shea.
i don't think berbatov will start because sir alex subbed hernandez off. this implies
that he was thinking of playing him again against chelsea.

Berbatov didn't play in that match despite being in the top form, that implies that he will be playing against Chelsea.

I wonder if temptation will get the better of Sir Alex and he pitches in Hernandez right from the off. After scoring two yesterday, a case can be made. I think if he lets his head rule his impulse a 4-5-1 is very, very, very, very likely with Berbatov and Hernandez dropping to bench.

I also wonder if Rafael will be brought back to counter the Cole aggression down the right

I'm very nervous about this fixture, so much so I had terrible nightmares last night.
