I imagine the defense will be the same as today, Carrick will be joined in midfield by Scholes and Anderson. The front 3 I think will be Nani right, Rooney left and Hernandez through the middle.

I gladly take a score draw....we have no luck at the bridge....

I hope we go with Hernandez & Rooney up front in a 4-4-1-1 with Rooney taking the position between their defence & midfield. With Luiz not eligible to play Nani v Bosingwa will be a key battle and hopefully Nani can get the better of him.

Not sure about Rio, I'd like him back in the team but I don't want us to rush him back just for this game and then pick-up another knock that keeps him out. Plus Smalling's been excellent and there's no reason to hurry Rio's return.

1-1 would be a good result for us.

Rio might be in contention for this one but I think he will end up on the bench. I think we need to start of with a 4-3-3 and see how it goes. If its scoreless or if we are down come the 60th or 65th minute, then we need to switch to 4-4-2 or something really attacking.

Throwing in Ferdinand in this type of game would be suicide when he hasnt played in what, 2-3 months? Look at what happened to Vidic in the Champions League game a few years ago against Milan in the San Siro. Play him against Fulham.

VDS

O'Shea
Ferdinand (Think Fergie will surprise us all)
Vidic
Evra

Park
Fletcher
Scholes

Nani
Giggs

Rooney

0-0

No Atkinson and No Luiz. Our chances just went up by some 70%

Giggs at left back

5-0 to Chelsea at half-time, two penalties and an offside goal included, ends 8-5 to us.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Fabio
CB: Smalling
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Valencia
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
CM: Anderson
LM: Nani

CF: Rooney

Subs: PIG, Gill, Gibson, Giggs, Park, Hernandez, Berbatov

Personally I think the return of Anderson could be crucial in this game, he was excellent there last season. Heart says we'll win 1-2 as we're long overdue a win on their ground, head says it'll finish 0-0

I want to see how they lineup without Luiz. He has been a tremendous signing for them. He has improved their defense vastly. Now I think it will be either Terry-Alex or Terry-Ivanovic in central defense.

Agreed, him not being available could be a massive plus point for us in this tie. Alex isn't fit is he? and Ivanovic always looks like he's got a mistake in him when he plays CB

David Luiz isn't special defensively. He was very poor against Stoke.

I hope to see this line-up.
