Chelsea vs Spurs

How the feck Dier, Rose, Walker and Dembele escaped a red card i will never know. These four cnuts could have gotten 2 or 3 red cards per player in this game alone. Absolute disgraceful behaviour. Guess Clattenburg had a bet on no red card in this game.

Lamela too

Some of the comments and attitudes towards Spurs on here are ridiculous. For all of you laughing and cheering for Chelsea, don't forget what that club represent: John Terry, Diego Costa, Mourinho at the heights of his dickheadish-ness, all the money in the world, Ray Wilkins saga... I could go on. They're a club rotten from top to bottom and it's very unusual/weird how everyone seems to have developed this negativity towards Spurs.

Spurs let themselves down today but it's very easy to forget the achievements they've made this season, in the shadow of Leicester's amazing one. How many of you would've laughed if someone said Leicester would be fighting for the title 3 matches from the end of the season? They've had a tremendous season and should be applauded for it. Instead they've got fans of just about every other team lauding it over them because they just about failed? It's completely hypocritical! What have Chelsea done this season to be so pleased about - why does Hazard care so much about stopping Spurs? Arsenal - they've bottled it again and are having protests to remove Wenger... They're completely embarrassing.

Well played to Leicester, but also incredible season from Spurs.
Chelsea also screwed up the Scousers title win.

I think I am developing a soft spot for them, especially whenever they have nothing to play for.

Seen all this, Spurs managed to out thug Arsenal, which is quite tough.

Acted like brats the whole game.
Happy for Leicester - deserved champions at the end. Hope some of those Spurs players get suspended for next season as well.

Walker, Rose, Dier deserved reds for two yellows. Dembele and Lamela for their off the ball violence.

Managing to outcunt Chelsea is quite the feat.

This match was a fecking travesty. Yes, we had two damned stupid bookings, but the ref (Cunttenberg) was yet again against us from the start. If dearest Mark isn't getting a brown envelope from the Russian then how do you explain the travesty that was this match?

This was not a fair result at all, and I am amazed people are making excuses for it.

They're approaching RAWK levels of insanity.

Fair play to Hiddink for staying calm btw.:
"If you have done some judo you can fall, so it was not a problem."

I was driving home last night so missed the game, annoyingly. This is hilarious:

It doesn't show it on there but Lamela after his tackle on Fabregas turned round looked at Clattenberg, shrugged his shoulders and said "what?":lol:

Probably the most enjoyable game ive seen in ages to be honest, two London clubs kicking the shit out of each other for 90 minutes... Very refreshing to see!

How there were no red cards is beyond me.... Strangely i quite enjoyed Clattenburgs leniancy for once, but how there were no red cards in the last 10 minutes is absolute insanity.

I thought that there should have been more injury time, it was just warming up!

I said exactly the same thing... best game ive seen this season...

Totally, I can't fathom the over the top outrage. English football doesn't get as much coverage in Spain as you might think, but they've been all over this, one paper called it a 'Clasico Londres'.

If it was a united - liverpool derby, or a classic United - Arsenal keane vs viera style game, people wouldnt be as outraged... Im struggling to see why so many people have such a deep intense negative opinion of it

Quite, if that had been Utd/City or Utd/Liverpool, oh my God I would have loved it!

I'm hoping for some real Pep Jose fireworks in the Manchester derby next year, if it happens then the same ones calling this game a disgrace will defend it to the hilt.

Football sometimes needs games like this to remind us of the passion that the game is built on. I can understand professionals maybe not approving, but fans, come on, surely not.

Missed the FA cup semi final I guess. That one had a last minute winner too instead of pushing and shoving like children.

FA cup Semi final was hardly a great game?... Was a classic story of us this season... Play well for a period against an inferior opposition, then let said opposition back into the game through stupidity, then inevitably - a young player - martial in this case has to save us. Should have rolled over that everton side 3-0

First half of that was shite.
Just because we were on top? Lukaku was through on goal twice as well in that first half.

Second half was more mental but it was a fantastic game overall with a winner in injury time and tons of chances for both teams all in all (especially in the second).

Plus the focus was on the game with little wannabe hardman behavior.

Okay, then Spurs was the classic story of the recent history of Spurs. Take an impressive lead but Spurs it up by throwing it all away. Nothing new. Other than some blokes kicking shits out of each other for no apparent reason.

You're missing the point though... Its a subjective opinion, you might not enjoy certain aspects of a game that i enjoy for example... There is no right or wrong opinion to have... I enjoyed the game last night, because i thought it was English football at its purest. A Huge game in terms of magnitude, with the title on the line, a london Derby... quality players, playing quality football. All with an added edge of passion and the needle of a derby. I thought it was everything that english football should be; Hard fought, Fast, Competitive... And like i said before, i enjoyed the scrapping and the edge to the game. Its something that is fading from english football, but its always been a large part of our identity as a league.

If you didnt enjoy those things, then you have every right to disagree with me... but from my own perspective, it was a classic PL match. Admittedly spurs should have had 3 players sent off, but they didnt... and i still enjoyed the game. I fully expect Guardiola Vs Mourinho next season to have a similar edge, and if it doesnt, i will be dissapointed.

Hazard and Fab made comments before the game and the Spurs lads obviously wanted to make them pay, its a shame they didn't win the game.
They let the need for revenge take their mind off the real mission. I enjoyed the game though, although yes some of the handbags got a bit out of hand, especially at the end.

Of course it is subjective. And I actually agree on a lot of those points. For example, my favorite match up in my time of watching football was the United vs Arsenal rivalry of the late 90's and early 00's. There was speed, aggression, quality, and a genuine hatred between the two sets of players. But there's a line to be drawn. I don't see off the ball cuntishness, kick outs, eye-gouging as a great part of the game. I see it as extremely childish behavior from people who are supposed to be grown adults. A genuine tough tackle, sure. But 8 or 9 players kicking the opponent, that's a bit pathetic. I don't see how people can hate Costa's antic but love this. It's the same reason I don't look back at us kicking lumps out of Reyes with pride. It's out of pure desperation and Arsenal's quality that we resorted to it.

Also, I never liked this aspect of the Pep vs Mourinho clashes. I like a good, tough, clash, but I don't think the tackles and antics we saw in this game are that. There's a tough, well fought class with aggression, and there's thuggery. This was the latter IMO. The only difference is that the ref decided to let it go unpunished.

Well said. In the end yesterday was not a hard-fought and scrappy game where two teams aggressively tried to win, it became a show of violent self purpose thanks to a cowardly ref. "If we can't win the title lets at least feck some guys up."

In terms of the game last night, im not suggesting the off the ball incidents and the gouging etc was the part i enjoyed seeing, I enjoyed seeing the hard tackles and the edge to the game, Costa chasing down, and sliding in Alderweireld, stealing the ball up the field, that kind of devotion and passion was the parts i enjoyed. Unfortunately the off the ball incidents are an unfortunate by-product of that style of match, but that kind of thing should be punished with a red card, which i eluded to in my previous comment.

Personally i enjoy most of Costa's antics, hes the sort of player for the most part i would love to play alongside or against. He lives and plays on the edge, and yeah sure he crosses the line every now and then, so he has to be brought back in line, but if youre going to battle, which is essentially what sport is, a battle between you and your opponent, you want the person next to you to be 100% committed.

Agree to disagree I guess. I don't think this is the natural by product of aggressive football at all, but something more. Leicester have generally played with a lot of commitment this season. We always played with tons of commitment under SAF. That's aggressive competitive football. I saw this game as crossing the line. And you might have liked the competitive elements and I agree but the same game did also include the other rubbish bits, which has to be taken into account when judging the game as a spectacle.

That by product of off the ball incidents i think is one that doesnt surface very often. Usually because for the most part referees are very canny at recognising what is happening, and they set a precedent early with a card or two, they set the standard and arent afraid to send players off. I thought clattenburg showed no such canniness last night. He let a lot go which led to the off the ball incidents. If the referee fails to give out justice, players take it into their own hands.

This might be the worst refereeing I have ever seen. Right there with Italy vs S.Korea and that match was rigged.

In a fair world, this would have been Clattenburg's last match ever.

Absolutely. Clattenburg completely messed up in the manner in which be reffed the game. But again, that too is part of the package that was Chelsea vs Spurs. We agree on most things on this match anyway.

John Terry going on about it being a London Derby and no retrospective action should be taken...

Rubbish. It is what it is and everyone should be treated equally. The FA should punish both sides for what turned into a disgusting debacle towards the end.

Definitely; those Off the ball incidents should all be punished retrospectively. Regardless of match. Not sure what action could be taken for the scuffle after the whistle, didn't seem like any red card offences there..

Club can be punished as a whole, failure to control their players. In fact I think both have already been done this season for the same offence, comedy potential if Spurs get deducted points and end up below Arsenal because of it

They have to be for 6+ players getting cards, isn't it?
