Chicago Fire v Manchester United - Pre-season friendly

According to GOL they're showing the Toronto game in that time slot?
TSN has the All Stars vs United next week.

The Toronto FC game against KC kicks off at 7:30 EST. I understand GOLTV are going to show the United Chicago game before that beginning at 5 pm EST. I hope that is correct.

Going to be about 30 C with the humidity making it feel like 40 C. 90% chance of rain overnight and tomorrow morning so it might not be as bad as expected. Also hopefully they will get a breeze of the lake, they don't call it the Windy City for nothing.

As a resident, I can tell you that the rain will only make it more humid and sticky outside. Really hoping it doesn't get cancelled as it's been all I've been looking forward to all summer. I'll be sure to post pics.

It would appear only I found my joke funny

Why is the match starting at 4pm to start with? Its the summer and its been know to get warm every now & then in Chicago. Stupid!

Also its not like a 4hr baseball game at Wrigley and you need to start early.

It was supposed to start at 7pm but the kickoff got moved back 'till 4 shortly after the fixture was announced. Don't know the reasoning behind it, but even without this heatwave, an afternoon kickoff would still be too hot for you Brits.

It's just going to be a really shitty game. Played at walking pace, with loads of substitutions.

I take it this will be on MUTV rather than sky?

We have enough players now to have 2 different teams for the 2 halfs.

-----------Gea-----------
Fabio-Jones-Smalling-Evra
Nani---Carrick-Giggs-Young
-------kiko-owen

---------Linde----------
Rafael--Rio-Vidic---Evans
----Ando------Park-----
--------Clev-----------
TheOne---------Welbz
--------Berba------------

Yes because we don't have any players who come from hot climates:rolleyes:

The players aren't the ones complaining to cancel the match. You kinda know what your getting when you come to the midwest in the dead of summer.

Severe thunderstorms woke up my baby last night and kept us up for quite a while. Hope the lads had enough rest.

EDIT: Which jerseys are we playing with

This is at 10 pm British time right?

Which is about 5 hours away?

Aren't we in the same timezone? Isn't the clock making it way towards 17 now? Or am I 1 hour behind you Brits?

That's great. That means it will be finished at 23 here which is the same time I finish work. 4 hours of football tonight

What's the other game(s)?

3rd place in Copa America. Starts at 7 (8 in UK). Peru - Venezuela.

Also if you have access to it Philadelphia Union - Real Madrid starts right after the United game. Not sure if I'm gonna watch that though.

Lineup:

De Gea; Fabio, Smalling, Jones, Evra (c); Obertan, Carrick, Cleverley, Welbeck; Diouf, Berbatov.

Glad to see that Berba returns after his minor injury. Looking forward to seeing De Gea and Jones in United shirts and also Smalling, Cleverley and Welbeck making their first appearance of the tour.

Shame Welbeck is shoved out onto the wing. Great to see Cleverley centrally though.

Very excited for De Gea and Jones

Also gents its only around-the-clock 85f now. Big storm system moved through and cooled everything off a nit,

Looking forward to seeing the youngsters, will be interesting if it's Diouf on the wing and Welbeck up-front or vice-versa. Inexperienced at the back but very talented, hopefully Jones & De Gea have good debuts.
