CL Group Stage, Matchday 1

Schmelzer always been the weak link

What is Schmelzer doing marking Higuain? I'm inclined to think Hummels lost him at the corner and Schmelzer just made a last-minute dash to try and get a challenge in.

Subotic was not on the fecking field.

They played with 10 men for 3 minutes and the 4th ref did not let him back on the pitch despite being ready.

Barcelona look shitter under Martino to be fair. Can't see them winning it this year.

Goal goal Messi. Only 11 goals behind the great Raul. It is possible he could become the greatest scorer in European/Champions league history.

He'll break it and Ronaldo will too I'd expect, who's close to Messi's tally too.

Nistelrooys tally was pretty fantastic when you take everything into account. Messi has only levelled that while also playing in the apparent greatest club side ever, playing a handful less games.

Di Stefano's record was the most impressive though. 49 in 58, mental.

No way they're winning it this year.. They are far from sharp enough, and too vulnerable at the back.. They will get smashed if they meet a strong opposition..

You are right, but with Messi, I think he will make the record unbeatable for years to come since he has another possible 10 years in him. He will get it in under 100 games, whereas it took Raul 144 games. Ronaldo is pretty close to 100 games already. As for Di Stefano's record, please refer to the bolded part in your statement where there were very few credible challengers to Real Madrid. Great chance for El Pulga again, great run.

Jesus, depleted or not, Milan are shocking. If Celtic could only get their act together, they should be looking for all 3 points.

He's not looked anywhere near his best for quite a while now. Strange signing by Jose.

Maybe the Eggman is trying to replicate what he had at Inter: a load of old duffers who'll bust a gut to win things before exploding in a shower of springs & cogs like a knackered cuckoo clock.

This boys going to be something special I think, he has taken to Europe excellently.
