I've often admired the advantage 3 in the middle with the wing backs giving width, and with Park and Richardson we have the pace to get behind teams, whilst still packing the midfield to cover our lack of 2 good midfielders.
So Rio sits in front, Smith backs him up and Rooney and Ronaldo supply the passes....well Rooney passes, Ronaldo carries the ball creating space.
I dunno but I'm so fecked off of seeing slow sideways lazy shite football from fletcher,O shea, and Scholes, Smith survives for the defensive cover that is it, he can't make it in a 2 man midfield.
This team will never happen, but it's an idea??

The more I wait for this game the more confident I am feeling, with scholes suspended it seems like fergie is forced to play with ronaldo and park on the wings with rooney and ruud up front, unless both smith and fletcher have a shocker (which is possible) we should cruise to comfortable victory.

I won't be surprise if we revert to 433, to tighten up our game in the middle of the park. Especially as it's an away European game. Lille will likely take the cue from the Boro game and attempt to control the CM. At OT, they had 5 accross midfield, don't see them changing - they tend to be a cautious, "defend first" team.
