FERGIE YET TO DECIDE ON ROONEY

Sir Alex Ferguson has not yet decided whether to play Wayne Rooney from the start when he makes Manchester United debut against Fenerbahce in Tuesday night's Champions League clash at Old Trafford.

The £27million England striker, who has recovered from a foot injury, is poised to launch his United career in the European encounter at some point in the match.

"I am just mulling over whether to start him or put him on the bench," said Ferguson.

"Maybe putting him on the bench would be the fairest thing to do. Nonetheless he is going to be involved."

Ferguson revealed that Paul Scholes, who missed the win at Tottenham because of a groin strain, will be sidelined for two weeks.

Team (from): Carroll, Brown, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Heinze, Ronaldo, Keane, O'Shea, Giggs, Smith, Van Nistelrooy, Rooney, Ricardo, Bellion, P Neville, Kleberson, Miller, Richardson, Fletcher.

Great to see Fergie confident that Rooney will be involved. I actually think it will be a pretty good game for him to make his debut.

Fenerbahce will park the team bus in front of their goal so the main task will be finding a way through. It will be a low pressure game with plenty of license to get forward and enjoy himself.

If, as expected Fenerbache come with a complete defensive mindset, then some-one like Kleberson could be just what we need. He has the vision and passing ability to create problems for them and will be allowed more time on the ball than in the Premiership, which he need to get his confidence up and get into a rhythm.
Rooney I think will make the bench and play about 30 minutes. He will need introducing slowly as he's bound to be short of fitness. For a lot of the time he was out he could do any training.

i cant wait for this fecking game any more, im to exited, its probably the fact that ronaldo and rooney are playing in the same team,

No idea what the line up is going to be but I can see us improving our scoring record tomorrow.
I hope to see Miller start though, what with him, Ronaldo and Rooney we are looking at the future of our club.

Agree! :) The two best teenagers in the world both playing for Manchester United in the Champion's League... does it get any better than this?

Personally, I think Rooney will come off the bench, I see no point chucking the lad into the unknown on his debut... see what Fenerbahce's game-plan is first and bring him on a) When we're 2-0 up and cruising or b) Bring him on when 60 minutes gone and it's still 0-0 (or 1-1, whatever).

In both situations, he will enjoy himself and run riot at their defence.

Fenerbahce are definitely to be respected but I haven't been this confident about a Man Utd team's chances since around the time Rio's ban kicked in. I think we're looking solid, confident and our attacking options are as good as ever at the moment.

I expect us to win this 2-0.

I dont think Fenerbahce are going to come to OT with a defensive mindset and set their stall out. It seems like they believe they have a really good chance against us and are going to take the game by the scruff of the neck. Should provide for a pretty open game with good entertainment.

And hopefully lots of crunching tackles too.

All culminating with a United win of course.

I'm pretty sure they'll come looking to grab a goal but if our defence can do what it has done the last couple of games and our attack scare them on the counter, they'll get a bit worried after a while and settle back into their shell and think, "Erm... 0-0 isn't too bad really..."

We are creating chances galore at the moment... someone is going to get beaten 6-0 or 6-1 this season (not suggesting it will happen in this game in any way shape or form) but we are looking impressive on the attack again.

Rio is obviously playing like a demon that has been caged for 8 months and Heinze is showing terrific competitive class. Silv much better with Rio at his side.

Midfield is my main worry... Keane is still the main man but he's got shit on his mind at the moment... doubt that will affect him but...

O Shea is no central midfielder... he's barely a decent defender these days, I think when he nutmegged Figo all those moons ago, he thought he'd done it all.

Hopefully Kleberson will start and I think he will, he's much more suited to these CL games and has been pinging the ball around beautifully in his games this season.

We're gonna win this game so get your money on now.

hahaha  looks good..

Ronaldo in goal would never work... he'll step over the ball twenty times on its way in.

I'd like to see DJx2 get another opportunity but I suspect SAF will stick with O'Shea.
