CL: Olympique Lyonnais vs Manchester United F.C

I think Giggs/Scholes will play. I think it will look like a 442 on paper but may look like a 433 in reality with Rooney/Ronaldo/Tevez up top and Giggs tucking in. A bit like how we played at the emirates.

--Brown--Vidic--Rio--Evra--
--------Hargreaves--------
--Ronaldo--Scholes--Giggs--
------Tevez---Rooney------

Subs: Kuz, O'shea, Nani, Anderson, Saha, Carrick, Fletcher.

Geez, a huge number of midfielders. Tells you how important SAF feels for midfielders.

---Hargreaves--Scholes-----
Ronaldo---Anderson---Tevez
-----------Rooney----------

I think we'll win 4-1,if they try and be adventurous we might rout them 6-0

Lyon are a very good side. Only Inter would have been a tougher draw in my opinion. 1:0 to them, 1:3 at OT. Aggregate win...just.

I think it will be something like this. Maybe Anderson for Carrick, Giggs for Tevez.

Have been looking forward to this game for a long time, as long as we get an away goal and keep it tight, we should be in a good position to secure ourself's into the next round at OT.

Hope he does'nt tinker with the sde too much.
Just Ronaldo for Park, and maybe Tevez for Nani, but that would be a touch harsh.

Why are people looking at this like a draw would be a good result? We should go there and attack them, they're hardly Real Madrid, Rangers won 3-0 there.

Will Fergie go for a 4-5-1?
TBH it wouldnt worry me as long as he uses the right players for it.

I think Anderson being subbed yesterday means he'll start against Lyon.

VDS
Wes, Rio, Vida, Paddy
Carrick, Hargreaves
Anderson, Tevez, Ronnie
Roon

If Roon plays the way he did against arse he'll destroy their defence single handedly. I reckon we'll win by 3-1.

Because in Europe a draw away is usually considered a good result. They will not come to Old Trafford and win, so to call it a must win is silly.

I think we will win it though, but it wouldn't be a disaster if we didn't.

Exactly, it was no disaster when we lost 2-1 to Roma, i'm 99% sure if you offered SAF a 1-1 draw now.. he'd say thank you ver much and see you at O.T

Although, I do agree that we are well capable of getting a result there.

Giggs, Tevez and probably Scholes will play as they didn't against L'Arse Rooney will also play as he was substituted. Park, Nani and Fletcher won't play. Whether Anderson, Carrick or Hargreaves plays is doubtful.

As much as we love Anderson we all know Giggs will start. We will lose attack with that change. Even Nani would be better for us.

How some can drop Carrick for this game is beyond me.

Difficult job to field the starting XI!

I can already see the transfer muppets praise Benzema and that other lad on the wing Ben Afra????? whatever. It's going to be the one game when people here will like it more if the opposition score rather than us doing it.

tough one, i'd go with this:

------------------VDS--------------------
Wes--------Rio--------Vidic----------Evra
-------Hargreaves--Carrick--Giggs--------
Ronaldo----------------------------------
----------------Rooney----------Tevez---

I'd leave Scholesy on the bench, basically. Carrick deserves to start ahead of him, simple as.

Anderson on for Giggs if/when he tires (or stands there with his hands on his hips all game, though Giggs usually raises his game when he returns).

Fletch should also be in there on merit, but i'd go with Hargreaves. Better pace and energy

I kinda hoped SAF would've rested our defenders against Arsenal after an hour passed.

0-3 Utd.
We're going to walk all over 'em.
Rooney (2), Saha.

Don't forget the barcodes game on Saturday, I feel that those feckers will be up for it this time. so I think Anderson, Carrick and Nani will be rested cuz this trio along with Ronnie are our best midfield for PL away games and three points there are a must.

I would go with this team. However we have no idea what Fergie is thinking of.

It won't be as tough as many predict, Lyon have been shite this season and lead Ligue 1 by only one point, they had one good game in the group stage of Champions League which happened to be their last one. They are not as strong as they used to be anymore.

I'd go with that. I think Scholes is not ready yet.

I know imagine if they hadn't lost all those players they would be hella tough, they have seemed to replace them fairly well, save for Essien, that said Roma took them down last year at Lyon, and well we all know what happened to Roma in the next round
