CL: Olympique Lyonnais vs Manchester United F.C

Watching something on Sky Sports last night, and the Lyon v United promo ran. I didn't quite catch what they said, but I'm sure Cantona's name was mentioned. Will he be in the studio or do they have an interview?
 
Ronaldo fit again - let's get the R & R show on the road.

Need a good solid display in defence and midfield plus the usual flair up front and on the flanks. No reason why we can't get a good result if we play to our potential.
 
United to win.

After what happened last week at OT our confidence will be high. for me man to watch will be Ronaldo, he has been superb this season in all competitions but remember the main competition for European player of the year is CL and so Ronaldo did it well by scoring 5 brilliant goals. :D

We have a good chance to win the CL this season..

Liverpool vs Man utd for the Final this year. :drool:
 
I'm sure Ronaldo will be raring to go with the mini break he's had. I bet he was wishing he was out on the pitch against Arsenal so hopefully he'll have a real hunger tonight.

I was going to jot down a starting line up but I have no idea who I'd start with and it what system. My heart is saying a 4-4-2 but my head is saying 4-5-1. Then I just dont know who to select in midfield. Would I start with Nani and Anderson as a reward for putting in class performaces at the weekend, or do I go with experience.

Too many decisions!

Looking forward to this one though, got that feeling in my belly.
 
Let's just hope he starts with Carrick & Scholes in midfield. 4-4-2 all the way Giggs and Ronaldo either side, Roon and Tevez up top. Both Nani and Anderson are banging down the door now (especially Anderson) for a first team spot too. It's a tough one but I'd like to see Carrick and Scholes - seems to be just about the best pairing (closely followed by Anderson and Carrick)
 
I really want us to go for this tonight, can't see it happening though.
I'd take a score draw.
 
These days at united are really interesting. Every single player deserves to play. And there are loads of them!

If these players are great, then god only knows what Rooney Ronaldo Kaka are etc...

Lets face facts Ligue 1 is a mickey mouse league. Yes they're good player stop putting them on a pedestal though.

If Bobmer is great so am I.

He was great last year against United, he was solid in front against us, Rio and Vidic still remember him. Stop underrating players just because you don't like them. I understand Ligue 1 is not highly rated but it doesn't mean all players there are just not as good as some of ours. It will be a tough game if Lyon plays at its true level. Ferguson won't make the mistake to underestimate them anyway.

This bloke is right.

Lyon are, by a stretch, the toughest team we could have drawn, after winning our group. On their day they can beat any side in Europe, bar none. So can we, of course, but this is a seriously tricky fixture and no mistake.
 
I think it will be Tevez-Rooney-Giggs-Hargreaves-Scholes-Ronaldo-Evra-Vidic-Rio-Brown-VDS. Straight 4-4-2. Tevez and Ronald were rested to play.

Tevez gets nod over Nani because we're away from home, and its better to have another fighter in there.

I kinda agree with you on the Giggs and Scholes part.
 
Almost two months without European football..... im literally shaking in anticipation.
