"Classic" Movies That You Just Don't Get

Life is beautiful
The Sergio Leone Trilogy
Schindler's list
Touch of Evil
Twelve Monkeys

Just no! It's one of my favorites.

Lord of the Rings... they're entertaining movies but I didn't know there was that many people out there that are so in to that sort of thing i.e. geeky as feck, med-evil style warrior movies.

I never get the hype for films set in Roman times either, besides maybe 300 because it's just pure action.

Because you don't like the genre. If I'm dead tired at 2 AM and I see Lord of the Rings on, I'll stay up until 5AM just to watch it.

Same about the films set in Roman time. You don't like the genre, and the history behind it.

I think the parameters of what makes a film a classic should've probably been cleared up in the OP as most of the films I've seen mentioned are far from what I'd call a classic

Gone with the Wind is the best example of a 'classic' film that I never enjoyed
I'd agree with Gone With The Wind, time hasn't been kind to it.

I'm fully interested in the history, but the gladiator style action movies are just a bit boring

The Magnificent Ambersons
The Thing
The Great Escape
I like the Thing, but few would call it a classic except within its genre. One of Carpenter's best. Good suspense and the effects were groundbreaking at the time. Kurt Russell has an impressive beard in it too.
