Not a fan of Conte, never have been so possibly will be biased here.
But, I think with Conte you're always getting a short term manager, just like Mou, and if you can't get results in the short term it's better to let him go and look elsewhere. The side is not the greatest obviously, but from what I've seen of you, barring a few games you haven't looked convincing at all.
Also, I think losses to Burnley, Southampton, Wolves individually aren't bad results per se as one off. But them happening over the span of 4 odd games is concerning. Either ways, I think you're back to post Bale days (with Kane seemingly on the way out), and you will need to find the next Poch, Eriksen, Son, etc. and build back up
Must be very disconcerting as a player if your manager is behaving like this after literally only saying a few days ago it was the best set of players he he worked with.

I agree with this, I don't think Conte is the right manager for spurs. Don't get me wrong I think he's a very good manager for a club that is in a position to compete. Right now, spurs are not there. They'd be better off with a manager who can build a club, an identity as you say. Potter would be perfect for them, but the question is would be work with someone like Levy?
Won't be long before the fans start turning on Levy I feel.

Yeah but that's what they get for building a new stadium instead of rebuilding the squad and supporting Pochettino. The Spurs fans were giving it large about their cheese room and beer taps that fill pints from the bottom up when they were building the "best stadium in world football".
They can blame Levy all they want but they were equally as compliant, acting as if they'd established themselves as a top 2 side and won a bunch of trophies.
Levy will ultimately get the blame for poor planning of the football side of things, but these issues happened seasons ago. Today, they've brought in Conte and all he's done is moan about the things he agreed on when he came in. He's complained about the squad at every opportunity, there's been one January window since he signed, seriously, what's he expecting to happen? Now he's saying Spurs have to question his place at the club because they've lost 4 in 5. He's just deflecting from the shit job he's doing.
I agree about Conte, great manager but not what Spurs needed right now! But again, the man who appointed him has to take responsibility and should be held accountable for yet another poor decision! Hiring a manager is one thing but if you don't support and back him in the way he wants (like city did with Pep), then its just going to lead to more failure.
I agree, they should have gone for a Hassenhutl or a Potter when Jose left but that wouldn't have appeased Kane's ego. It's hard to sell that you're trying to win trophies when you bring in a squad builder or transitional manager.
Levy hired Fabio Paratici (who's mates with Conte) to be the director of football, with Levy taking a step back on all footballing matters, or at least having someone else to blame when it goes to shit. They've done their best to support him but Conte is just being his usual nobbish self because he didn't get a tonne of cash or new players in January.
Conte is a toxic manager, I am glad we did not go for him. He was toxic at Chelsea, Inter and 6 months in and is about to throw his toys out the pram because he didn't get experienced players in January.

Doesn't particularly feel like you were paying much attention for that span of time. Pochettino was absolute toast, and had a Juande-Ramos-type cup run that masked irretrievable form in the league. Jose was brought in to make the most of a squad that had reached the CL final and was in a reasonably good position to win. He lost the plot when he started twitching about people complaining about leaking goals, exactly the same as at united, and had started to nuke the dressing room by telling Son and Kane they needed to leave etc. He was essentially sacked before the Cup final because of all of that, but I also suspect that sending that version of Mourinho into a cup final against that version of City would have left an indelible stain on recent history. As it is, we lost - but practically everyone has forgotten about it.
Alderweireld was replaced by Sanchez at the time his 'release clause' was the hot topic

that's basically £200m of replacements in four players, all of which except Romero were Pochettino's choices. And they were terrible.

It's all good and well for United to get it wrong (and we have countless times) but for Spurs who hardly invest in their squad those were absolute howlers and may be one of the main reasons they are in the position they're in atm. I think if Conte could get 40 mill for both of them now he'd bite your hand off.

You are right in the sense that we can't afford to make big mistakes in the market - the likes of Utd, City, Chelsea, etc. make mistakes regularly but have almost unlimited funds so it hardly matters - with us one or two bad signings can set the club back years. Unfortunately we have made some absolutely terrible signings for big money (for us) and they have been a disaster.
It's nonsense too because he didn't play Ndombele and LoCelso anyway and they don't particularly suit him. He showed no interest in Dele Alli. He got in the two good Juventus players, which most managers would be more than happy with for just January signings. Rangnick got nothing, even if he's an interim.
He's not as good a manager as he thinks he is. He's a lot closer to Mourinho than he is to say Klopp.

Pep took City job because he knew they will spend, there was history of City spending before he joined. Conte rejected Spurs for a reason in the first instance.

It was a bad fit. Spurs did a huge mistake by not going for someone like potter in the summer. Funny had we lost that game to spurs in October, we could have appointed conte and maybe Spurs would have gone for someone like Rangnick. I feel a Rangnick like personality would have done better than Conte for Spurs.

Klopp is an outlier, which is why I believe he's the best manager in the world. He's a modern day Fergie in that sense. However, people do seem to romanticise Klopp a bit, see his starting 11 when he first joined Liverpool and the one that won the UCL, why did he have to change his whole team ? Couldn't he have just made his players better, maybe good enough to finish top 4 without a drastic change of personnel ? Maybe he didn't need Trent and Robertson when he had Clyne and Moreno ?
Klopp has an eye for a bargain and his recruitment policy is brilliant, however, don't change history and act like he didn't gradually sign a brand new starting 11 to make them compete.
