Not sure his PR is good enough to land him the Madrid role. Koeman seems safe for now at Barcelona, bringing in his Dutch buddies on free transfers. Really cannot see him taking the Spurs role, it just is beneath his level. PSG perhaps?

He has high standards, I admire him.
Conte is that insanely hot girl you spot in a club but you can see the crazy in the eyes.

I mean, he wants to win and the club are talking about downsizing ambitions here, so i can understand where he's coming from

I thought this was just an old thread being bumped. Seems like Conte is always on the verge of leaving wherever he is every summer.
Makes a lot of sense for Real imo. Able to work with old players, tactically very good and Real will spend some money, even if it isn't mega bucks. If not them, then PSG will give him the money. Only problem with PSG is that you can see him thinking he is above the French league.
Real makes too much sense. EasIly the most high profile manager around. Only complication I see would be the level of compensation to Inter. If he was a free agent, it would be a no brainer

His record in the CL has been poor at Juve, Chelsea and Inter.

Not a fan of his football, but he’s been successful domestically where he’s gone. Yet to crack Europe though.
As for the “he falls out with the owners” crowd, I don’t disagree, but hard to blame him at Inter after they’ve told him the club needs to recoup 100m€ and reduce the payroll by 20% which inevitably will be weaken the squad

I used to think this but it seems like it's actually just a story that's played up by the media because he's an intense guy. If you don't sell players he specifically wants to keep (hardly a crazy request) and don't promise him a player you can't get (again, not that crazy) he's fine.

Conte is expensive to keep around. Look at Chelsea and the aftermath. He is a very good manager, but his demands can easily put heavy financial pressure on clubs in the long term.

I must be missing all the other club needing to sell players for 100m€ this summer? I must be missing the discussion about which ones of our best players are we giving up at united? I thought people wanted us to sign kane for 100m£. I don't see Madrid, barca, atletico, bayern all selling for 100m€ of players.
Strange thing is that his best result is quarter final with Juve in his first CL run, since that he's been a disaster.
Difference between having short term and long term ambitions though.

I believe it is because his tactics are very very simple. It is not complicated stuff he puts out there, but credit to him it brings success. Europe is a difficult beast though. You cannot set up your team one way as you face a multiple of different ideas and tactics on your path to the final. A team that doesnt adapt extensively is facing an uphill battle.

His Juventus team was high press, with his earliest games being a 4-2-4 formation. He went away from that but absolutely steamrolled Serie A. He had awful players at Italy but coached them tight at Euro 2016. The Chelsea job started with 4-2-4 again but he didn’t have the players for it, changed it round and they battered everyone. His teams defend well but I don’t think he’s a defensive coach.
His problem is that he’s impossible to get on with for much time. He’s way too good for Tottenham and would be better off waiting for something else if he’s leaving Inter.

Yeah, but their main business is in retail, which was hit hard by the pandemic. And the Chinese government is limiting their ability to shift money outside.
That’s one of the most Jose things ever to be honest.
I don’t think his tactics are simple, he’s much more flexible (not saying better) than Klopp, for example.
Honestly, I just think his record in Europe is a freak and because he’s never really had an absolute top squad. The Juventus team was at the start and had been built by him but was just not as good as the Dortmund, Bayern, Barca teams at those times. Chelsea were only in there because he was coaching them and had cleared up Mourinho’s mess. Inter: could have done better in Europe but has won the league for them the first time in ages. It’s been 11 years since they were anything.
His problem is he takes over clubs that need building up but then he can’t see it through because he’s difficult.

Nonsense. He’s shown he can play 4-3-3, 4-2-4, 3-5-2 and 3-3-4 so plenty of tactical flexibility.
He had a good showing at Euro 2016 with a very poor Italian national team and was a Zana penalty away from eliminating the world champions Germany. Beat defending champions Spain handily. Beat Belgium easily who were ranked #1 at the time. Teams that on paper Italy shouldn’t even compete with.
I used pretty much this same analogy, in more local terms, on my buddies WhatsApp sports group. Proper crazy ride with him.
Sure, but the way his teams play very simple. There is little individual freedom, and mostly designed around moving the ball efficiently vertically. That is at least my impression, but could be wrong as I have only seen his Italian national team and Chelsea in greater detail.
And EL semi final with Juventus. Benfica beat us and the final was played in our Stadium.

Ehh, true to a degree. I think you can afford some 'aftermath' (which any top manager tends to leave behind, in my opinion anyway) as long as you grab trophies whilst doing. Conte does. Don't think he spends much more than your average elite level manager either.
In his first season he finished 2nd by a point and the runners-up in the Europa. Second season they won the league. Team is in a very good state - the strikers are either in their peak or just about to hit it; the CBs are all very much young etc. etc.
Think he gets a bit of unfair whack because he's a bit mad looking, very angry all the time and has fake hair.

Did that with Italy in 2016, then won Chelsea the league in a canter by adapting his formation with players like Victor Moses. But in the next season, he inexplicably goes to war with the board for new players, and buys duds like Zappacosta and Emerson. Almost same with Inter. Bought a lot of duds at Inter too.
I just don't get it. When you know that you can do well with lesser resources, why ask for all that money.
And his record in UCL is bad. The way Inter whimpered out of the groups in the last two seasons was just shocking. He is a great league manager though, probably second best behind Guardiola.
