We don't really know what happened for the kid to be arrested, where I work a lot of the kids don't recite the Pledge and nobody cares.

I had students in a fit today because, using statistics, I defended another student saying “the United States isn’t the best country on earth”.

You’d have thought I’d shot their puppy dogs.

He was sleeping, and scratched his shoulder. The cops also didn't sound on edge at all while talking beforehand, and they knew he had (at most) one round, as there was no magazine in the gun.

There's also, what? Four cops magdumping because a sleeping man with with a gun in his lap moved slightly. Anyone who reacts like that lacks the nerve to be a police officer, and should be fired.

That's fair. It's amazing that he didn't wake up when the people at the drive through were banging on his window. On the flip side, blaring a siren to a guy who has a gun on his lap may not be ideal either.

Bizarre the guy was asleep at a fast food chain with a gun on his lap granted; but these guys should be able to deal with stuff like that.
