Prize money is worth sod all in the lower divisions when about 80% of the income is from tickets on the door, I don't think the EFL or FA have 150m to give to the lower league teams to keep them in business.

I'm not clever enough for law, but these are exceptional times, right? One thing that hasn't changed is that lawyers are money sucking leeches and always will be. Wouldn't they encourage supporters groups to use this 'null and void' scenario to make a bit of money? And obviously they'll fill their own boss too?
This "the season didn't happen" scenario has to be carefully managed I'd imagine.

I would imagine that somewhere in the wording of these tickets, it’s stipulated that what you pay for is to attend the event. If the result of said matches is ruled invalid after the fact, I don’t think that changes that the event was attended.
Just as an example United had potentially another 18 games to play this season. How is that going to be played out in a month?

Half of them are probably on the gear anyway, but with 18 games in a month and only 13 rest days they'll need an energy boost from somewhere. Especially as they would have to play 4-5 days in a row at some point to complete the season in a month.

Why is finishing the season that big of a deal. Aren't therr more important thing's going on compared to finishing a fecking game. Just void it and start a new season when it's safe.
Theres also the FA Cup but regardless of what order they're played in the current season couldn't be wrapped up in a month.

Yes I think it’s minimum 6 weeks for all current comps and that’s assuming one legged European ties. The teams I have most sympathy for are those fighting relegation. They would have to go from no games in say 3 months to 9 huge games in a month with no fans. If it does happen like that I think the clubs who have looked after the players mentality the best will be most likely to avoid the drop.
Of course they are. Curtailed would mean the league ends with current positions counting for champions, european positions and relegation. Null and Void would means the season would have to be replayed from scratch. So no, people won't stop talking about null and void if that's the situation they want.

The premier league have said 'all dates are tentative, it is looking at possible schedule models and if the 20-21 started any later than the first week in september it it would be difficult to fit other competitions in'. Nobody has 'told' anybody anything. No decisions made.

I actually think that the likes of Smith and Kay have come out of this looking very out of touch with reality and, to be honest, quite thick people. Not because of what they are arguing but because of some of the terrible reasoning and the way they've been presenting it.
And I wouldn't necessarily put that on Liverpool fans or anyone else with strong biases. It's understandable why some fans would want to continue and some want to stop and there is allowances afforded for that - not to mention allowances for online shit talking. But it's quite odd to see some of these guys invest so heavily in, and construct such intricately bad arguments.

I posted the relevant condition people with season tickets signed. There is no legal obligation to return $1 no matter what happens. United are choosing to refund people for the unplayed games but don't have to.
Full refunds won't happen no matter what.

Something else to be considered about prioritising 2020/2021 season over this one is that all the rules about what will happen if it’s curtailed/some matches can’t be played etc can be clearly spelled out and agreed by everyone prior to it kicking off.

Fair point, but an easy rebuttal by any lawyer: the primary aim of the matchday experience is the result. Everything else is secondary to that result. If there is now no result then there was no matchday experience. It's not a film at a cinema.
@Cloud7 made an interesting point above that attending the event may constitute as the whole package. Will have to see the small prints coming out on Twitter soon.
