We will see how viable that is. At the moment it's a non starter, as long as the FCO advises against all travel our teams wont be able to get insurance. It will be the same for everybody else.

In a fair world that would be true. Unfortunately we live in a world were they will make the exception because the Dippers are 'the peoples Champions' and to make the exception will bring delight and a warm feeling to everyone up and down the nation.
With European qualification, surely there has to be a restraint put on the financial benefits to the teams that qualify. Let's face it, it's only a handful of clubs that have a realistic chance of winning the tournament and for the great majority of the participants, the major benefit is financial. Clubs like Wolves and Sheff Utd have a genuine shot at the CL, which will be taken from them if the season ends now. It seems only fair, to me at least, that they are compensated in some way and totally unfair the likes of us (assuming City are suspended) and Chelsea get to benefit to the full extent financially. I don't know how the financials break down, but maybe we should only be allowed to fully benefit from the sponsorship and ticket sales, whilst a chunk of our TV revenue and prize money, is used to compensate the clubs who miss out, that could realistically have qualified. Maybe something along those lines could be worked out for relegated clubs also.
I really think with public opinion the way it is, no club in England is going to challenge things or make demands. The vast majority of this country don't care about football and even actively hate it. The public are looking for reasons to hate football and not even the darling Liverpool fan push that back. As proven by the furlough situation recently.

I'm not sure they'll crown a champion and send people down though? Much like Holland. They'll think of a way to have a final table but it will be how the decide the rewards and punishments that's key.

Don't see the league continuing with other big countries voiding and a lot of people getting sick and dying from covid-19 to continue for months. Can't have medical resources being used at football matches for a start.
What really concerns me is we see a resurgence of this virus in the winter, quite possible we don't see any football again this year. Next spring could be a probable restart date.
Not sure how UEFA think the CL & EL are going to restart anytime soon either. Likely to be quarantine periods for travelling for 12 months between most countries. Can't see football being exempt from that. Next spring also seems realistic for the restart.

That approach is the worst of them all. Oh, no your dominance at the top of the table doesn't count for anything and your abysmal season that was seeing you head down? Yeah, we'll ignore that. But you in 4th? Oh you're definitely getting rewarded for your season! The halfway approach is a shambles and deeply unfair.
And here lies the problem. Every solution has a problem which is why the only fair way that treats everyone equally is to cancel and void the season.
PSG, Liverpool and probably Celtic will all be champions this season.
That isn't fair either. It rewards someone like Norwich who were clearly going down, punishes Leeds who were clearly coming up, rewards shite teams like Arsenal who were doing nothing of note and punishes teams like Leicester and Sheffield United who were having fantastic seasons.
It wouldn't reward Arsenal, nor punish Leicester and Sheffield United. UEFA have quite plainly said that they will only be accepting people into the CL/Europa based on the 19/20 season.
Yes, because UEFA have also strongly advised against the null and void scenario so naturally that is their stance. If the PL voids this season then there is no 19/20 season from which UEFA can accept clubs and you know the outcome will be defaulting back to teams that started the 19/20 season in Europe instead therefore Arsenal, a mid table team, will end up getting their European football again whereas Leicester and Sheffield United will get nothing.
So hang on, France aren't voiding at all?

Treating everyone equally is not fair, that's the fallacy in your solution.
They've cancelled the rest of the season, yet people have made of that that they "are voiding" it, which has never even been mentioned by the authorities.
As soon as news emerges that a league has been cancelled people automatically assume its been voided. Its a natural instinct for most on here as it (falsely) builds hope for Liverpool missing out on the title.
Norwich were 6 points off it with 9 games left. Nothing at all clear about them going down.
Same with Leeds. They are 7 points clear but 9 games to go.
both of those have been turned around plenty in the past.

We're not looking for fair and just, we're looking for speedy conclusion as the competition needs a closure for a lot of parties (sponsorship, contracts, legals, bonus payments, etc). It's not about restarting the league soon, it's about closing the league in the most appropriate (again, not about fairness) manner and put the whole football into hiatus until it's 100% safe to do so.

If CL will be finished, I assume it'll be completed in one location, wherever football won't be banned.

Penalty shootout for all remaining games - 5 pens each.
Only takers plus goalies plus managers allowed in (plus officials), no-one allowed within 5 yards of each other and each ball is binned/burned after a penalty. Result after 5 penalties equates to points as normal games do.
It'd be like those comps you had as a kid and there were loads of teams all ready for their match. Instead of some guy from the estate who's been put in charge shouting "right, next is Brickfield v Queens Park", we could have Brian Blessed calling "RIGHT, NEXT ITS MAN UNITED VERSUS SPURS"
After 6 weeks of nothing (new), I'd watch it live and tape it to watch again and again....

If the Bundesliga does resume in May and finish in June, they can organize it in July quite easily.
I’m glad to see the French and Dutch League are abandoning their leagues and moving on rather than this weird “null and void” idea.
I think any other team other than liverpool or spurs and no one would give a shit. Void it all, write off 19/20 and be done with it. Start clean and clear, preferably towards the end of the year if seasons are going to be adjusted for WC2022.
