Could they void the PL due to the Coronavirus? | No | Resuming June 17th

Final decision regarding Bundesliga restart will be announced next Wednesday. May 16th seems the most likely date now. There won't be any matches with spectators before September.

To be fair, I don't think anybody who's working to get the football season back by a certain date is doing so under the presumption that it's a guarantee. These dates are malleable, obviously. Just gives them something to work towards I guess.

Yep - I suppose there would be criticism if they kept keeping it vague as well, so they can't win.

Leagues 1 and 2 surely won't play on though. There was some mad idea of the top 8 having a bit of a play off.
I remember the paper was trying to make out it was shocking that my boys Wycombe were 8th and had a chance of going up.
We're 3 points off 2nd with a game in hand for frig's sake:lol:

Looks like they are waiting the 14 days since restrictions being eased to see what the likelihood of increases will be if any.
Sensible and smart approach.

Why is it just so difficult to wait and play out this season? Why is there an obession with trying to start the 2020/21 season on time? Its simply not going to happen. The greed of sport is unreal at times.

I literally posted "this decision has little bearing on what the PL will do" a few posts above yours

Good luck trying to take any "presidents" by the way.

Do you come here just to spot spelling or typo mistakes ?!
You're such a big head.

You were complaing about Liverpool fans quoting a Chelsea fan questioning the morality of Utd fans wanting a void.

I'll just leave you to it.

You're all the time on (ClaytonBlackmoorLeftPeg) this guy's back.
And some say you're one of the best Liverpoo fans who post here - most of the rest must be really intolerable and here just to incite.

The greed is seen in trying to play this season out with a world emergency going on!

Will they have lawsuits galore from the other teams involved in Champions/CL Positions/Relegation etc all along the line through the other divisions?!
"There might be appeals but our decisions are solid," said Didier Quillot, the chief executive of the French League (LFP).

What? And if I show you a tweet that Covid is fake you'll jump on that too? Are you American?

Belgium just declared Brugge champions not long ago (now to be ratified) and Scotland are thinking of doing the same with Celtic. Has the French FA told those countries this shocking bit of news?:eek::eek:

Blimey you get excited easily.

My money is still on, no relegation but the Dippers get a pity title.

It will finish on PPG or as it stands. Either way we will miss out having played a game less. Champions League football would be huge for our club and city, if we did get there. Would be cruel to miss out like this.

I’m not excited by that news at all, mate. I was just making a poor attempt at humour using mimicry by copying a post of yours from earlier today. :D

Tbh, I don't see how there will be European competition in any form next season. Plane travel in the middle of a pandemic is a massive no-no, and even if they did, would that mean every squad being being in quarantine for 14 days after matchday?

It just won't work.

Exactly, it's really just showing up the unrelenting greed. I'd love for football to come back obviously but aside from checking in on here from time to time, it's the last thing on my mind and doesn't need to continue unless we're in the complete clear with this virus.

Very heartening to hear that all the misplaced naivety thrown around here regarding extending player contracts into July/August and beyond is, as it was always suspected, pure folly. Folk here spoke like it was a formality and akin to agreeing to cutting your neighbour’s front lawn. A mere gentleman’s agreement with nothing at all on the line and no legal minefields to navigate.

We're would United end up in the points per game scenario?

So Liverpool all set to win the league with the fewest points dropped by any Premier League team then?

Sorry, have they been awarded the title already?

Not yet. But a precedent has been set. If there is a clear winner, crown a champion (French League) If there is no clear winner don't crown a champion (Dutch League)

The Maths hasn't spoken yet so there is NO CLEAR WINNER.

Same,
Plus the qualifiers start late June/Early July... No chance of those going ahead. Theres hundreds of games to get through before the group stages even start in September.
