Cristiano Ronaldo - performances 2017/18

Is it me or is he getting even more muscular/ripped?
His back muscles can now be seen from the front.

How long do you reckon he can keep this level up? when will he drop to 20 goals a season which is still ridiculous for a player of that age when it does happen.

2 or 3 years ago Ibra was scoring 50 for the season, now he's in the MLS. The biggest thing for Ronaldo has to be avoid injuries. He dedicates his life to the sport and he's going to keep himself fit so as long as he stays injury free I think he can still keep going at a high level for a few more years.

Probably sans alcohol. He is well known to be teetotal - not just because of his dedication to his career/fitness but also because his father was alcoholic.

I think science has proved that the occasional glass of wine is actually good for you. Maybe he just started it recently. It’s well known that he’s not the type to have lots of beer/spirits but he can afford some of the most vintage bottles of red wine in the world, wouldn’t blame him for trying them.

Waiting for the Rooney response...

It's not about the pen, it's about the header. Normally it's a cross into the out. He wins it and put the ball perfectly in the middle. How?

I doubt it, but I’m not going to argue since it’s not possible to verify!

I doubt that is actually true i've read a fair few stories and seen loads of pictures of him drinking champagne, wine etc. over the years.

It was a great pass from Kroos because it cleared the LB and honestly a simple header for him.

Funny people mentioning his muscles. I think he's gotten smaller in size from previous years. Maybe it's to do with less weight = more speed.

I'd differentiate between having a toast and drinking on a regular basis whatever frequency that is.

Then again, with the awards and trophies piling up , that's a ton of toasts.

It won't be a fair comparison because there is no way he would have this body with a plant based diet.
Well the idea is to see how it changes , if at all . Plenty of athletes (Inc professional) have changed with no ill effect. Would be interesting to see

Most certainly the greatest condition I’ve ever seen a 33 year old footballer. Unbelievable to an extent but there have been plenty of witnesses to testify that he does more exercise in a day than I have for about 5 years!

Yeah he's obviously not a big drinker, you usually see the odd story about him drinking on holiday in the summer. I think he was teetotal when he was younger because i remember Ferguson mentioning it a few times.

Is this guy taking something illegal? How the hell do you get that body at his age? Incredible. What a player. Simply GOAT

Seen guys in their 50's with such physiques. Seems the Caf is full of 12 year olds who think over 30 is a near death experience on a daily basis.

Guys? or you mean full time bodybuilders.

Obviously body builders would be included. But not exclusively. Live in Aus we got triathletes who achieve increadble physical feats at well over 50, as they work like hell everyday of the year and put their bodies through hell, all for a finishers medal at few events a year. Ultra marathon runners, I could go on...

I've wondered that myself. The whole he's 33 and looks that good/fit is a bit troubling!

Right but all of them are primarily competing/focusing on fitness and/or aesthetics. For a soccer player it is a way bigger achievement as they also have to train/develop so many other parts of their game with fitness being one (very important) one.

You don't have to look like Ronaldo to be a successful soccer player which is why it is a shock that he looks as good as those who compete for fitness primarily. In other words, I have a feeling he could take some of those guys in fitness on which would mean competing in two sports.

What am I reading here? Why is it a shock to look like that at 33? Its science and genetics

It's not a shock when you consider he's the most narcissistic man in sport.

This  It’s not even THAT much to do with genetics - most people could achieve a SIMILAR look with proper guidance and dedication to nutrition.

The header to create the opportunity when the pen was given was just

And the penalty, my word hanging around that long, having Juve players going mental all around and he smashes the penalty in, sublime. What a fecking man

Yeah mate triathletes only do it for aesthetics . My point is 33 isn’t a barrier to having a rip body/ physical fitness or being able to compete at sports.

A backpost header against the smallest Juve defender on the park who he can easily outjump?

Yes, the way he hung in the air and literally planted a header to the 6 yard line for Vasquez was brilliant. Even if he is the smallest Juve defender on the park, he still had to do it in the final minute to create the opportunity and he did. Even Gerrard and Owen were waxing lyrical about it after the game.
