He's not been playing in the weekly league games presumably to protect himself for the CL final and the World Cup but I think it's having a marked effect on his sharpness which looked excellent before this.

Lovren, Klavan, Arnold, Robertson, Van Dijk, and Moreno. Look at that defenders. CR7 will score, Benzema will score, even Ramos will score.
And Salah or Mane will not have an easy running battle with Marcelo and Carvajal. Firmino ? Dont rate him at all. Even Neymar could not do much, and he is faster and technically better than Salah.
Liverpool midfield ? Against Casemiro-Kroos-Modric ?
Dont overated Pool and Salah too much. They are good but nothing special.

Ronaldo not scoring in the semis of CL is in itself a surprise. He'll be desperate to put a few past Liverpool now.

I would definitely say that Salah is something special. Also, we could see yesterday that even in a moment where Bayern needed two goals, it seemed impossible for Real’s fullbacks to play defensively. I can really see how Real have the whole match in their hand but an aggressive Firmino steals the ball and passes it forward on the right flank where there is no Marcelo but only a hungry Salah. Yes on paper Real is better, but a team who can hit counter attacks like Liverpool and with players like Firmino and Salah who only need one small tiny opportunity, Liverpool can beat any team.

I'm sure we can find similar clubs in La Liga that have prevented Ronaldo and co from scoring. I mean, they're 3rd in La Liga.

Madrid repeatedly crossing it looking for him in the box while he's been off the pitch for 45 minutes says it all, they're toothless without him and what happened in the semifinals against Bayern where someone else ends up scoring the goals is not how it usually goes.

The whole "he's not that good as a 9" thing, even when Real use him as a target man, he's a menace but you don't get to feel that until your team faces him, he's a monster in long balls and crosses, every loose ball in the area becomes a threat, and, on top of that huge pressence that any big target man could have, he still has his occassional wing runs, good football brain and a better range of shooting than most strikers. Any word on his ankle sprain? I think he'll be fine for the final, but would like for him to get a couple matches in before then so he isn't rusty against Liverpool. Ideally, he'd come in to the final riding a couple of goals.
He'll miss one week but be back in time for the final La Liga match and CL Final.
Please be fully fit by the finals. Don't want Liverpool to face a half fit Ronaldo who can't be dropped, but can't be taken.

If Madrid start Benz and Ronaldo I think they will win, if it's Ronaldo up top on his own to try combat Liverpool defensively then I think they will struggle. Benzema will pin Liverpool's CB back and be a handful which should leave more space for Ronaldo, his movement and finishing will be too much for AA and Lovren.
Midfield battle Madrid will win clearly, I expect Modric and Kroos to step up in the big games and Casemiro will probably be influential if he doesn't get sent off within the first 30minutes. Marcelo is a big game player and I think he will put in another MOM performance, shutting down Salah and contributing going forward.

Am glad you posted this, I regularly watched Spanish football for years, one thing people who don't watch it much won't realize, is how important Benzema has been to Ronaldo's Real career. He often did the dirty work up top, and his movement has been a major factor in chances falling Ronnies way, I think Ronnie looked good v Barcelona on the left. Maybe he won't track back much, but from the Roma game, if one player can got at, it's young Arnold.
Real should have the skills and the coolness to play their way through Liverpool's press play. That would 1. Open up and 2. give a very tired Liverpool for the last 20 minutes.
I am pretty sure they will play Benzema. Two goals against Bayern and a really nice assist against Barca and very well played matches overall for him (as long as Ronaldo was on the pitch at least).
