Cristiano Ronaldo - performances 2017/18

He only scored 15 goals in 13 games this edition in CL, being the third time a player scored 15+ goals in the competition aka his third time.
He didn't score in the semis (after establishing the record of scoring 11 games in a row) and didn't score in the final after being injured for 3 weeks prior.
Blatant failure this guy.

If Messi had won 3 champions in a row scoring this amount of goals a lot of people would be dead of testicular dehydration.

Amen lmaaaoooo

The salt is real :lol::lol:

PS Here’s Cristiano Ronaldo’s wonderfully absurd reaction to Real’s victory, as published by Marca.

Who was the top scorer once again? The Champions League should change and be called the CR7 Champions League. I have won five and I am the top goalscorer again, so I cannot be sad.

I love him so much

He could. But based on Messi’s performances when it matters in the last few years, it’s highly unlikely
Like scoring a hattrick in a must win game to qualify for the world cup?

Great player and all but don't want him back here either. Less for his ability but more for his attitude. Like I mentioned in the match thread. Look at his reaction after Karius fecks up for the 3rd Madrid goal. I don't think any other player on the planet reacts that way when your team essentially just sealed their 3rd straight CL trophy.

Well i for one i do think this time Ronaldo will leave Real for real. I do think that he really wanted to leave last summer but was persuaded to stay by Perez and Zidane for one more final year..

Real can't realistically demand money for him. He's on like €40m before tax.
If he going it will be on a free transfer and that's still a good deal for Real imo.
Paying millions for someone who would be a few months shy of 34 and giving him those kind of wages would be shocking business.
Saying that, he's sulking as usual. He will stay.

Where was he when Barca keeps going out in the CL QF?

We are going to pay £65m for a 34 year old for one more good season, aren't we?

Feck it, it's not my money!

My God!

Really poor tonight and a bit unlucky in some moments. Things just didn't went right. Seemed off the pace too, perhaps with one or two eyes in the World Cup already. It will be his last card on the table for sure and he didn't want to risk it after what happened with his team mate and Salah.

Can't stand him and I'd hate to have his sulky egotistical ass back here. Imagine the tantrums he'd throw when Rashford doesn't pass to him, or when we struggle to even get a shot on target. He'd be unbearable.

Would make it all the better if we won the Prem with him.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat if the fee wasn't overboard.

 Fantastic.

Hopefully he doesn't announce he's retiring after the World Cup.
Oh shit, I hadn't even thought of this. Surely with his physique he could still play at least 3-4 years at the top?

Nah, he's not retiring yet, that would be really weird. If he goes he'll go to the MLS I think.

Beat us twice in the final didn't he? Anyways everyone here knows you're as objective as can be on these matters. I'll leave you to it. Glad Ronnie boy won the cup tonight, we agree on that at least.

I advise you to not speak with him about Ronaldo. :)

He still can bang goals and will bang them few more years I reckon.
Depends on his service at this point. If you are asking him to create for himself, you're gonna be disappointed.

Very sluggish performance. He looked like he had weights in his boots.

A 34 year-old old man out there tonight. Looked sad to see really him not able to skin a Liverpool defender or have any chances to score.

Dreading seeing him at the World Cup after such a long tiring season. Could get embarrassing especially as Portugal don't have Bale to save his backside.

Great player but he's such a douchebag. Has to be about him.

Yeah.. like when he overshadowed United winning the CL with his "god only knows" quotes.

Because Bale said a few quotes about leaving Real Madrid and talking to his agent giving out a come-and-get-me-plea to Gary and the lads.. he has to outdo him !

Actually, if he retires after the WC (which he won’t) he would DEFINITELY win the Ballon d’Or! 4D chess :smirk:

A real challenge is going to a new League and helping it grow. Where is the challenge in Real Madrid when they are dominating the CL every year? it's boring..

A challenge would be to go to a new league (MLS, China, Dubai, India etc) and help turn it into one of the best leagues in the World. Or come back to England and take Reading into The Premier League.. that would make him a real hero and a much better legacy. At Real Madrid he will be just "one of many" stars. At a place like Reading he could be a true hero and treated like a god.

Well, he's been around for 16 years now, that's a long time playing profesional football. Probably will play a few more years, but it really seemed weird to hint at an exit after winning a CL.

Yes, let’s refer to something that happened 7/9 years ago.

Such is the extent of his ego. Pretty sure had he scored, he would have saved that pearl for a day or two after the game.

I don't think it was a ego thing. When Portugal won the euro he celebrated like crazy even though he touched the ball one or two times in the game before going off.

I think that's different, he was injured there and it was his country's first trophy on the European stage. I'm also talking half tongue in cheek. I think this is just his standard contract augmentation play that Perez has to deal with every summer.

Don't think he'll win the Balon d'or after that, unless Portugal have a good WC run.
