OMFG! I'm cackling so hard

Is it really that hard to make a statue that can resemble him a little bit more or did the guy who made just half assed. Either way it's very funny how it came xD

Before this one, the last one they made for him in Madeira looked like this

He's like a God over there, but apparently their sculptors don't like him very much

Looks like Joe Hart with overtones of Gareth Bale - Spurs edition.

Also, is it just the camera angle/lighting or have they given him a semi?

anyone else thinking of flying into Aero porto Niall Quinn this year. Maderia is a fantastic place. Worth mentioning that the Christian Ronaldo musuem in Funchal is worth a peek
i'm going there in august, tickets already booked. Looking forward to seeing the flower island and some cliffs.

enjoy..the people there are very friendly, the food is good and there is some super scenery. They certainly love Christian Ronaldo there

Just got me thinking... Why did Ronaldo regress so much with his dribbling? Hes nowhere near as good as he was from 18-24ish.
Because for all his tricks he relied entirely on his physical attributes to dribble, and those are mostly gone. He should change his style of dribbling, but at his age it's very difficult to do. Plus with the modern athletes, physical attributes such as acceleration, quickness, agility, balance and explosiveness are more important than ever for dribbling

And it's not like he's not effective now, even without the dribbling

You're right about all those attributes being so important, for instance I wouldn't say Messi is a great 'dribbler' like someone like Neymar or other Brazilian players who can do more fancy stuff but his balance is incredible and is what allows him to switch direction so fast (along with his acceleration) and get past players just with his tight control of the ball. There's also being an intelligent footballer in the sense of making the right decisions at the right time.

Has Ronaldo lost that much of his physical attributes? I haven't seen as many games with him this season, but it's true that he rarely seems to sprint anymore, but to me it looks like a he's taken an Evra; basically he looks like he is playing through an injury, which impedes his running. He can make short bursts, but not sustain his runs or make many of them. That last season for Fergie, Evra could hardly run at times, and later Ferguson said he played through an injury. Ronaldo may well come back next season better physically. Considering Valencia is just as fast as he was 5 years ago, there's no reason why Ronaldo should have regressed so quickly. That being said, it looks like Nani has also become a lot slower as well. Messi is also slowing down.

Cristiano has been in decline for 2-3 years now. He's not as fast and not as quick, as he used to be, his change of direction is slower and more ponderous, he's lost a couple steps in almost every regard. The only thing that doesn't seem affected is his jump

@Acheron Messi is an incredible natural dribbler, better than neymar who relies more than him on his physical attributes. Messi could still dribble past players without moving, and his hesitation and dummy fakes are so good even the fans in the stands fall for them. He has such complete control over his body. It helps that he's never going to lose that first step thanks to his size, but even if he lost everything else, he'd still beat people like Riquelme

Very mature performance today. Got Martinez his second yellow and scored 2 goals.

Messi's stats are freaking ridiculous in this mind

Nah, he does not do in big games.

About his defending, of course he didn't do much at United. But one thing people forgot and didn't notice was his defending for corners. Then started so many counter attacks from those. He was very useful and effective at that.

Madrid should also have a Ronaldo statue

He was sensational the 2nd half. I can't remember the last time he played that well. I don't think he put a foot wrong.

He has another 3 years left in him at the top at least.

£80mil was a bargain. :(

he's going to be another zlatan

He probably has the mental and physical attributes to play into his late 30's.

Still a complete boss and still the best in the world for me.
