Can't believe United fans wouldn't have him back, so what if he has an ego, I'd take him back in a shot he will still easily score 25+ goals a season. I'd love him to do that in a United shirt again.

Thing with ronaldo is he does seem to have genuine respect for United. Should he decide to leave madrid I'm almost certain he won't play for anyone else but us.

It amuses me greatly that there are United fans who believe this.

I always thought he had genuine respect for SAF, not for the club.

I think those two kind of go hand in hand.

I'm not saying he'll be back here after Real, but there isn't really any other places he could go in terms of staying at the same level. Also, his CR7 brand back with United is a wet commercial dream for both parties.

I'm obviously a huge fanboy, so I'd be chuffed if he's back whatever we're paying him, but if he's not then it is not the end of the world either due to his age.

get out of here!

no freaking way!

Yeah, I don't like to make a big fuss over it.

lol
well, to be fair i tend to prefer messi over ronaldo

i try not to show it but him being argentinian sometimes -very few, almost never- makes me lean towards lio

i know, i know, this will shock you and the rest of the caf, but i had to take this out of my chest

couldnt hide it any longer

these revelations have left me almost as shocked as I was when Tom Daly announced that he's gay.

Explains why you would think that.

He has no reason to return now that SAF is retired. Judging by his comments after he left, it seemed to me like he promised SAF to stay at United for one more year before he moved to Madrid, just out of respect, even though he made that 'slave' comment that summer.

I was saying that Sir Alex and Manchester United go hand in hand. Not Ronaldo and United.

Do we think if Fergie was still our manager Ronaldo would have resigned for us by now?

Was going to post that.
If by some miracle they(City) did sign him though how would people feel about that ?

Hunter knows feck all, but if Ronaldo really goes to city (not happening) then he'll become persona non grata.

I think IF he's available, we'll be in for him. I think PSG will come in for di Maria, pretty sure he wants the move too, so just put that money towards Ronnie.

I don't see why the club wouldn't go for him. It seems we are desperate to get back to the top of English football and up there in Europe. The club have spent very uncharacteristically over the past year on Di Maria, and even Falcao. I think money is no issue for us atm. The revenue gained by being in the champions league, winning the league etc is massive and let's say we get rid of Falcao (250k a week) and buy Ronaldo for 50 million then we are laughing

No but seriously I don't think the possibility of signing him is as low as some people think. I also believe that the club will go very far to get back to where we used to be, be it spend a couple 100m here and there.

I loved Ronaldo in his time here, and he was very respectful when he played us in those last two CL games for Fergie, but I have to admit his antics (The CL final vs Barcelona comes to mind) did annoy me a little bit when he was here. Being the top man at Real Madrid seems to have worsen this, judging from his actions vs Levante the other day.

I won't be losing sleep if we avoid getting fleeced (and we will get fleeced) into buying him.

He is still a great player, 2nd greatest of all time, but i would rather cherish the memories of 2005 -2009 than re-sign him, he is clearly not going to fit in with LVG, he is a diva, we can't afford to mess up our team chemistry for him, i was never part of the "comeback" fan boys i always thought we would move on from him and we did, winning 2 titles and reaching the UCL final without him, the way some fans have been begging him to comeback over the years has been nothing short of pathetic, not as bad as his terrible scheme with the devil Mendez to cry out for United anytime he wants to extort Madrid though.

But like i said Great player.

:eek::nervous:

Second GOAT is extremely generous IMO. It's even highly debatable that Messi is 1. (assuming you meant Messi topples Ronaldo). But either way, everyone has their opinion but I'd have Ronaldo in top 10-20 GOAT's (category) myself. Each to their own though.

Its all subjective, 30 goal seasons for players before Ronaldo and Messi were considered great (Brazillian Ronaldo,Maradona,Van Basten,Muller,Puskas etc) for Ronaldo and Messi, 30 goal seasons would be considered as terrible seasons.

They don't just contribute goals to their teams, they have great performances, assists, link up plays etc all at the highest level, combine them with trophies and you have 2 players that have successfully pulled away from the rest.

But yeah....Subjective.

so after doing his calma celebration for a full season, they now are thinking about banning him  Wouldnt it be enough to tell him he shouldnt do it anymore, which in itself is a bit over the top, instead of banning him for this shit. They should look into the diving and Mascherano's theatrics the other day.

Errm, it's not for that particular gesture. I think there's a pic where he grabs his junk in an allegedly obscene gesture towards our fans. I don't think anything will come out of it.
