Did he celebrate at all when Bale broke the deadlock? Only seems to celebrate when he scores.

Who cares if he scored five, I wanna know if he looked happy when Bale scored!!!!11!!!

Not only this - he gets positively pissed off if someone else scores a goal he considers he should have scored - for example if they don't pass to him with an open goal - or they stick their foot on a shot of his to deflect it in etc. I think his petulance is quite funny and quite endearing actually. In some ways that incredible hunger to score is his greatest asset.

Despite his 5 goals I felt he had a poor game outside of his goalscoring. His decision making in general play has regressed compared to the start of the season.. Bale was more influential for me.

He needs 7 more goals to reach Di Stefano and 23 to become the top scorer in Madrid history, and he did it in 6 years!

To try and judge someone's game outside of the 5, yes 5 goals he scored is fecking crazy!!

 Indeed. He could have been having a wank in the toilets for most of the game for all I care. If you score 5 goals in one game you did your job and then some.

You really got him on a discount.
Yes, seeing the prices of players like Cavani, David Luiz or even Di Maria, Cristiano was a bargain. I am sorry for Bale, as He has no blame for what was paid but it is inevitable to compare them.

I think its safe to state that Ronaldo's career at Madrid has been like a ....

Why didn't we do deals like RM do?
We should have done:
80 mil fee
+ 5 mil for every Balon d'or
+ 5 mil for 100 goals
+ 5 mil for 200 goals
...
+ 0.5 mil every time he doesn't celebrate a team mate's goal
+ 1 mil every time he says "only God knows"

(But tbf Sporting are probably asking themselves similar questions)

I assume you discounted Bale's goal and 2 assists before making that decision?

I bet you Sporting felt pretty clever when they negotiated the clause that gave them first option on Ronaldo, should we ever sell him. I'm sure they were running around the stadium trying to locate £80 million once we made the deal with Real.

Ronaldo of course had a sensational game. It was more a general comment on his game outside of that... his goalscoring is never up for discussion.. he's amazing! Just saying Bale was making things happen whereas Ronaldo was finishing them.

If you watch their performances you'd see what I mean. Most people saw Ronaldo - 5 goals and assume everything he did v Granada was utterly brilliant.

That's absolutely ridiculous given the history of that club.

We made him. Honestly though it is amazing that we had him for 6 years and he spent a large time of his career at OT. He is in his element at Madrid of course but at United he was worshipped and still is by many supporters.

Pichichi trophy(the top scorer in la liga) had a record from 1989.Hugo Sanchez scored 38 goals. After many years seemed imposible to reach it (Romario,Ronaldo,Van Nistelrooy,Raul,Forlan,Etoo...) and the guy destroyed the record in 2010 scoring 41,in the middle of Guardiola's era.The most amazing thing is that 5 years later he is still so hungry like before. If I am right he already scored 36!!with 9 games still to be played

Forget Sterline, Depay, Hummels et al, we'd be walking the league and one of the favourites for the CL.
Agreed. Such a shame that United didn't offer Ronaldo the chance to have a whole team built around him. Proper funding of players around that time could have really propelled us into a team capable of winning another European trophy. Just imagine a team with Ronaldo and managed by Ferguson backed with the money that Madrid and Barcelona have spent in recent years. Sadly the Glazers thought they could just scrape by with everything with Fergusons genius and that plan has completely backfired with his retirement.

5 goals, that is impressive. imagine if he did it in the champions league against a real football team....

Yeah we only one three consecutive titles and back to back CL finals appearances in Ronaldo's last three seasons,

Weird logic. Goals are everything in winning. Not to mention some of his goals scored were brilliant solo effort.

We could have won six CLs on the trot and he'd have still cried his way to Madrid. He didn't want to stay here under any circumstances.

Only just seen the goals and aside from the 5th, the rest are gift wrapped and the result of some really comical defending.

On course for yet another 50 goal season. 5 in a row now. Surely he's not human.
