Ive often thought this then wonder why others in the league, even his team, don't do the same. Why doesn't Benzema get so many gift wrapped goals?
His role in the team is to supply Ronaldo and Bale. Another reason is Ronaldo's movement in the box and poaching skills are unparalleled.

Ronaldo has better positioning and off the ball movement than anyone else. They used to say the same about Law and Greaves, that their goals were mostly tap-ins. The trick is to make it look easier than it really is.

SirAF is done. Two pathetic updating performances on the spin.

Sell @SirAF
It's obvious he isn't even trying anymore. And his last two tries were also extremely lucky, he actually wanted to update the Messi thread, but as RedCafe is such a fantastic forum, his updates amazingly still landed in the Ronaldo thread.
Sell him to PSG, I would take 50 pence now, drive him to Paris myself and buy Cal? instead. Cal? has already proven in the past that he can be the King of Ronaldo threads.

It´s all Marcos fault. Rip @SirAF ´s participation in Ronaldo´s thread

feck sake! I didn't even know that Real were playing tonight! Okay, I'll be back for the next one.. I'll set an alarm!

1-0 Ronaldo

300 goals for Madrid in 6 seasons.

B..but..it's just the SPL with sun or something!

I'm surprised that we haven't heard yet from someone about how crap Ronaldo played tonight despite getting a goal and assist.

It's because he wasn't crap. Pretty great performance overall and a vital goal against a tough opponent. Would personally rate this higher than the gimmie v Granada. Also, a landmark goal in his RM career.

His record for them in full: 288 apps, 300 goals, 80 assists

eat your heart out @SirAF !

Sold for £80m :annoyed:

When you compare his record with Raul and DiStefano it really is quite staggering. 300 goals in 288 games. Raul took 741 games and DiStefano took 396 games.

Averaging 50 goals a season, in the pressure cooker that is Madrid, and still a chance to improve on that this year.

300 goals in 288 games .... Feck me.... There are teams in top leagues that don't even have that record..

Astonishing really. To score 50 a season once is silly, to average it over six seasons is unfathomable.

80 assists too is a great return.

He makes it look so easy and people hate on him because of it.

People just need to accept the fact that he's just not human.

Read that Madrid are appealing his yellow card for diving, and rightly so. I was never aware this was possible in La Liga, however, and can't find anything online about it, so is it a recent change in Spain or have they always been able to appeal yellow cards?

Had it last year at least, not sure about further back but I doubt it's a recent change.

The yellow card got rescinded today.

Serious question. If he plays another 4-5 years at Madrid, will people call him a RM legend who also played for sometime for Manchester United? Basically, his time for us will be a footnote in this footballer's career when people write about him? That would be sad!

3 League titles, 1 CL and 1 Ballon d'Or is not going to go down as a footnote in my eyes.

He'd do well to end up with 3 La Liga titles with Real!

But it is totally bullocks. Does he get the yellow cards now awarded for the dives the referee did not recognize - and in the same time does it change the result for the other team if a penalty or freekick was given for it?

Same Spanish league that booked Messi for being hit with a bottle and failed to rescind it

Messi's yellow was removed on appeal.

The yellow card appeal system has been around for years, certainly the last ten. Maybe they just never had a "can only appeal red cards" rule.

I must admit, with this latest one, I thought it was hilarious that refs routinely wave play on for dives and "went down too easily" moments, yet the booking came for an actual foul. Such is life.

Pretty interesting article on Cristiano:
http://deportes.elpais.com/deportes/2015/04/09/actualidad/1428613536_761430.html
The article talks about Cristiano reinventing himself. Apparently defenses in la liga know him better every day they have changed a bit the way to defend him, awaiting for him and trying to avoid him run with spaces . According to the article from the 48 goals scored this season, only 7 were preceded by more than a touch of the ball, therefore he is behaving like a pure striker, something that obviously would happen at the end of his career, but for what you see is proving good results

He'll have more trophy, AND similar goal returns if he join Barca. And I believe Messi will still get the same amount of goals (with more players marking CRonaldo) and much better assist numbers.

It actually benefit both parties.
