Could be one of two things: (1) Perez pushing Bale to the forefront because he has plans to make him the No.1 player at Madrid (2) Cristiano is on his way out of there.

Reckon a combination of both - but believe Ronaldo will be leaving next season instead of now.

Look at their latest Facebook foto's. Everyone beside the copa players and ronaldo is on it. Only ad ronaldo is on is the new kit home (far far right) and away (1 right from center).

But i think its just weird in general to have your star player (who also happens to be good looking) not to be the one standing in the middle.

Its like they are slowly pushing him out of the spotlight to let him off next season or this season in a shock move.

Yeah, I don't think we're too far from the truth. He'll probably go to PSG. Or maybe we'll tell Mendes we'll only let Di Maria go to PSG if you convince Ronaldo to come back to us:D (I'm kidding of course).

Seriously, that is shocking. Real Madrid are such a cold club eh? He's been carrying them for a while, no doubt made loads of money for them marketing wise, and once their bored, they just push you aside....
 
It could just be that he's focused on his own marketing endeavours and isn't available (like the copa players for their own reasons). He recently sold his image rights to Peter Lim, could that have something to do with it? And hasn't he been in some Japanese TV shows lately? He's probably just around milking his own image.

Might be the case, but wouldn't Real still have the exclusive rights to use him in their own ads/pictures?

Like it would be really weird if renaldo's contract forbid real to use him in random training and tour shots.

I agree, Perez knows it anyway. But I guess he sees Bale as the future. Big gamble because I'm not sure Bale is going to live up to the hype, we shall see though.

If we're talking about kit photos, he's always on the edge because he's a Nike player in an Adidas team.

If they're new publicity shots taken in Madrid, Ronaldo wasn't in Madrid last Thursday/Friday when the players reported for medicals etc. He's already in Australia where the team arrive tomorrow.

But, it is true that Perez would love Bale to become the superstar, so he can sell Ronaldo without repercussions. I can't see it myself.

Dont get me wrong, CR7 is as vain as they come and I love to hate on that, but I bet you wouldn't have reacted this way if Zidane or Ronaldinho had done it.

You're right, but they are not vain.

If Zidane and Ronaldinho had similar narcissistic tendencies as CR7, I probably would have reacted the same way.

Tbh, I don't actually care that much, it was more an offhand comment more than anything.

You can tell its him by his voice, he doesnt even disguise it.

Plus I doubt if she gave him her number, he'd have called her and invited her to his house for dinner. it wouldn't have been the start of a wonderful life together. He was just trying it on to see.

Would assume that Nike were behind this - they do more of these viral videos now rather than the traditional TV campaigns.

If he wanted to be mobbed and get an ego trip, then surely he could just walk outside anytime?
 
Famous people do this a lot. Olly Murs went busking in the middle of a street in disguise, Arnold Schwarzenegger dressed as the Terminator and stood very still at Madame Tussaud's - tricking people into thinking he was made of wax and scaring them when they took a photo.

It's harmless marketing and as said above this will have been organised by Nike, and in the mean time he made that kids year. Give him a break, the man can't take a piss without people assuming he's only doing it as some sort of ego trip.
